Great British Gardens (GBG) is a long-running online directory of publicly accessible gardens across the United Kingdom. It was founded in 2002 by garden enthusiast Paul Leitch as a personal hobby project in Cornwall, and has since grown into one of the most established open-garden guides serving both UK residents and overseas visitors planning garden-focused trips. The directory now indexes more than 550 gardens, arboretums, and historic landscapes across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, drawing around 550,000 unique visitors and approximately 1.5 million page views each year, with content sourced from across the British Isles.

The directory is organized by county and region, with separate index pages for each of the major English, Scottish and Welsh counties, plus a borough-level section for Greater London. A homepage slideshow placement is available at 100 GBP per month, and a forthcoming garden shows channel will be offered at 85 GBP per listing. Inclusion requests are handled through the Advertise page online form or by telephone via the editor’s office, and the directory also partners with the National Garden Scheme to promote charity open days free of charge.
