小组沿革
英格兰高山花园协会贝母小组(The Fritillaria Group)成立于 1997 年,是英国高山花园协会(Alpine Garden Society)旗下的一个专项兴趣小组,专门面向喜爱贝母属(Fritillaria)花卉的园艺爱好者,现有会员约 290 人,分布遍及欧洲各国,以及日本、北美、南美、澳大利亚、新西兰等地。小组的英文名称 The Fritillaria Group,会员以中老年业余爱好者为主,大多数人都喜欢亲手栽培各种贝母。
宗旨与活动
小组的宗旨是帮助会员更成功地栽培贝母,并通过学习、保护、栽培与繁殖来加深对这一属植物的认识与理解。小组每年举办两次非正式聚会,分别在春季和秋季举行:春季聚会有一个非竞赛性的花卉展示,两次聚会都安排讲座、植物销售环节,会员之间也会就贝母栽培的各方面进行热烈的交流。
期刊与种子交换
小组每年出版两期通讯期刊,内容包括栽培贝母的心得、野外观察游记,以及相关的贝母物种介绍。每年八月还组织一次种子交换活动,常有稀有物种可供交换,这是小组最受会员欢迎的活动之一。

About the Group
The Fritillaria Group was founded in 1997 as a specialist group within the Alpine Garden Society (AGS) in the United Kingdom. It is dedicated to gardeners with an interest in the genus Fritillaria, and currently has around 290 members drawn from most of Europe, as well as Japan, North and South America, Australia and New Zealand. Most members are keen amateur gardeners who enjoy growing fritillaries in their own gardens.
Aims and Activities
The Group aims to help members grow fritillaries more successfully and to extend the knowledge and understanding of the genus through study, conservation, cultivation and propagation. Members meet twice a year in spring and autumn at informal gatherings; the spring meeting includes a non-competitive show, and both meetings feature talks, plant sales and lively discussion among members on all aspects of Fritillaria cultivation.
Journal and Seed Exchange
The Group publishes two newsletters a year, with articles on cultivated and wild-collected fritillaries, travelogues and members’ growing experiences. A seed exchange is held every August and often includes rare species that are difficult to obtain from commercial sources.

Relationship with AGS
As a specialist group of the Alpine Garden Society, The Fritillaria Group works closely with other AGS specialist groups on shared activities and member services. The AGS is headquartered at Pershore, Worcestershire, England, and most Fritillaria Group meetings take place within the United Kingdom.
