
历史沿革与办学源流
学校起源于直隶农务学堂,1958 年正式更名为河北农业大学;20 世纪 50 年代,森林系、畜牧兽医系、农田水利系分别整建制参与组建了北京林学院(现北京林业大学)、内蒙古畜牧兽医学院(现内蒙古农业大学)、武汉水利学院(现与武汉大学合并);1995 年与原河北林学院合并,2000 年原河北水产学校、原河北畜牧科技学校并入,形成以农学为优势的多科性大学格局。
学科体系与人才培养
学校设有 31 个学院(部、系),有 9 个博士后科研流动站、10 个一级学科博士点、2 个专业学位博士点、23 个一级学科硕士点、13 个专业学位硕士点;96 个本科专业中含 24 个国家级一流本科专业建设点、25 个省级一流本科专业建设点、3 个工程教育专业认证专业;1 个学科列入河北省世界一流学科建设序列,3 个学科列入河北省国家一流学科建设序列,1 个国家重点(培育)学科,农业科学、植物与动物科学、化学、环境与生态学和工程学 5 个学科进入 ESI 全球排名前 1%。学校坚持立德树人根本任务,全面实施”311″人才培养模式和学分制,率先在全国制定实施本科专业实践能力培养路线图,先后获得省级以上教学成果奖 109 项,其中国家级教学成果 9 项;建设国家首批农科教合作人才培养基地 6 个、国家特色专业和国家实验教学示范中心等国家级”本科教学工程”建设项目 24 个。
师资队伍与科研创新
学校现有全日制本科生约 35,000 人,全日制硕士、博士研究生 5,610 人;在职教职工 2,960 人,其中专任教师 2,024 人,教授及相应职称 399 人,副教授及相应职称 941 人,博士生导师 248 人,硕士生导师 995 人,拥有国家”百千万人才工程”、国务院政府特殊津贴专家、省管专家等人才 200 余人次,国际欧亚科学院院士 2 人,俄罗斯自然科学院外籍院士 1 人,国家级教学名师 3 人,全国模范教师 4 人,全国优秀教师 5 人。学校拥有”省部共建华北作物改良与调控国家重点实验室””国家北方山区农业工程技术研究中心”等国家级、省部级重点实验室(工程中心、基地、试验站、协同创新中心、产业技术研究院)78 个;国家级现代农业产业技术体系专家 23 名、省级 99 名。近 5 年,学校承担国家和省部级项目课题 2,480 项,到位科研经费 11.87 亿元,获省部级以上科技奖励 120 项,发表 SCI 论文 4,325 篇,审定新品种 129 个,授权专利 1,669 件,在承担科技创新项目数量、经费总量和获奖等级、数量上一直名列省内高校前茅。
国际合作与社会服务
学校坚持开放办学,与 28 个国家和地区的 70 余所国(境)外高等院校和科研机构建立了广泛的学术交流和校际合作关系,与德国马格德堡-施滕达尔应用技术大学合作举办中外合作办学机构”马格德堡工学院”,与非洲科学院等 14 所”一带一路”沿线国家高等院校建立了国际教育交流与合作关系;设有国家留学基金委”新农科创新型人才培养专项””乡村振兴应用型国际化人才培养专项”等公派专项;建有国家级引才引智基地、教育部国际合作联合实验室、河北省”外国院士工作站”和 5 个”河北省国际科技合作基地”。学校依托新农村发展研究院、乡村振兴研究院开展政策研究、决策咨询,在全省范围内建立区域研究院 8 个、农业创新驿站 134 个、教学科研生产”三结合”基地 143 个,全力支撑学生培养、科技创新、示范推广,”农业创新驿站”模式得到省部领导充分肯定,入选全国产业扶贫典型案例、”全球减贫案例征集活动”最佳案例并在全省推广;选派省科技特派团 7 个、省科技特派员 221 名、保定市农业科技特派员 744 名,创建保定乡村振兴学院,近 3 年完成”头雁”项目等培训 50 期,培训学员 6,000 余名,有力促进了地方经济社会发展。
校园文化与发展愿景
学校在保定市、沧州市渤海新区、秦皇岛市、定州市四地有五个校区,校园占地 2,765 亩,附属实验农场 3,600 余亩,林场 40,000 余亩,建筑面积 124.1 万平方米,仪器设备总值 8.09 亿元,固定资产 26.22 亿元。百年积淀,学校形成了鲜明的办学特色,坚持”农业教育非实习不能得真谛,非试验不能探精微,实习试验二者不可偏废”的教学原则,秉承”崇德、务实、求是”的校训,开创了享誉全国的”太行山道路”;先后培养毕业生 40 多万名,涌现出董玉琛、刘旭、杨志峰、赵春江、郭子建等 11 名国内外院士。2016 年,习近平总书记对李保国同志先进事迹作出重要批示,称赞他是新时期共产党人的楷模、知识分子的优秀代表、太行山上的新愚公;李保国同志被授予”人民楷模”国家荣誉称号。面向新时代,今天的河北农业大学以立德树人为根本、以强农兴农为己任,向着特色鲜明高水平大学建设目标阔步前进。
History and Academic Origins
Hebei Agricultural University (HEBAU) was founded in 1902 as the Zhili Agricultural School, one of the earliest institutions in China to deliver higher agricultural education and the oldest university in Hebei Province. It is a key provincial university co-built by the Hebei Provincial People’s Government with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and is a Double First-Class construction university. The school passed through several historical periods, including Zhili Higher Agricultural School, Zhili Public Agricultural Specialised School, Hebei Provincial Agricultural College, Hebei Agricultural College, and finally Hebei Agricultural University; the forest, animal-husbandry-veterinary, and irrigation departments contributed to the founding of Beijing Forestry University, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, and Wuhan University respectively, and the 1995 merger with Hebei Forestry College consolidated its multidisciplinary strength.
Disciplines and Talent Development
The university operates 31 colleges and schools, 9 postdoctoral research stations, 10 first-level doctoral degree programmes, 2 professional doctoral programmes, 23 first-level master’s degree programmes, and 13 professional master’s degree programmes. Of its 96 undergraduate programmes, 24 are national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 25 are provincial first-class sites. One discipline is listed in Hebei’s world-class discipline construction sequence, 3 are in Hebei’s national first-class discipline sequence, and 1 is a national key (cultivation) discipline. Five disciplines, namely Agricultural Sciences, Plant and Animal Sciences, Chemistry, Environment and Ecology, and Engineering, rank in the top 1% globally in ESI. The university implements the “311” talent development model and a credit-based system, taking the lead in designing a practice-ability training roadmap for undergraduate programmes, and has received 109 provincial or above teaching achievement awards including 9 national awards, alongside 6 national agricultural science-education cooperation bases and 24 national “Undergraduate Teaching Engineering” projects.
Faculty and Research Innovation
HEBAU has about 35,000 full-time undergraduates and 5,610 master’s and doctoral candidates, supported by 2,960 staff members of whom 2,024 are full-time teachers, including 399 full professors and 941 associate professors, with 248 doctoral supervisors and 995 master’s supervisors. Among faculty are 2 academicians of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, 1 foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, 3 national-level teaching masters, 4 national model teachers, and 5 national outstanding teachers, with more than 200 recipients of national or provincial talent programmes such as the Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project and the State Council Special Allowance. The university hosts the State Key Laboratory of North China Crop Improvement and Regulation co-built by province and ministry, the National North Mountain Area Agricultural Engineering Technology Research Center, and 78 national and ministerial-level key laboratories, engineering centres, and innovation platforms, with 23 national and 99 provincial experts in the modern agricultural industry technology system. Over the past five years, HEBAU has undertaken 2,480 national and ministerial projects with CNY 1.187 billion of research funding, received 120 ministerial-level or above science and technology awards, published 4,325 SCI papers, approved 129 new varieties, and been granted 1,669 patents, consistently ranking at the top of Hebei’s universities in the number of research projects, total funding, and award grades.
International Cooperation and Extension Services
The university maintains academic exchanges and inter-school cooperation with more than 70 overseas universities and research institutions across 28 countries and regions. It co-runs the Magdeburg Engineering Institute with Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences in Germany, and has established international education and cooperation relationships with 14 institutions along the Belt and Road. National sponsored study programmes including the New Agricultural Science Innovative Talent Training Programme and the Rural Revitalisation Application-oriented International Talent Training Programme are offered, alongside a national-level talent introduction base, a Ministry of Education international joint laboratory, the Hebei Foreign Academician Workstation, and 5 Hebei international science and technology cooperation bases. The New Countryside Development Research Institute and the Rural Revitalisation Research Institute support policy research and decision-making consultancy, with 8 regional research institutes, 134 agricultural innovation stations, and 143 teaching-research-production bases across the province. The Agricultural Innovation Station model has been recognised by provincial leaders, selected as a national industrial poverty alleviation case and a Global Poverty Reduction Best Practice. HEBAU has dispatched 7 provincial science-and-technology dispatch teams and 221 provincial extension experts, and trained more than 6,000 learners over the past three years through the Baoding Rural Revitalisation Academy.
Campus Culture and Future Outlook
The university has five campuses across Baoding, Bohai New Area of Cangzhou, Qinhuangdao, and Dingzhou, covering 2,765 mu (about 184 hectares), with affiliated experimental farms of more than 3,600 mu and forest farms of more than 40,000 mu, and 1.241 million square metres of building floor space. Adhering to the motto “Chongde, Wushi, Qiushi” (Virtue, Pragmatism, Truth-Seeking) and the educational principle that practice and experiment are equally indispensable, HEBAU has cultivated more than 400,000 graduates and produced 11 academicians including Dong Yuchen, Liu Xu, Yang Zhifeng, Zhao Chunjiang, and Guo Zijian. Comrade Li Baoguo was awarded the national honorary title “People’s Model” in recognition of his contributions to the Taihang Mountain region. Looking ahead, HEBAU is committed to its mission of strengthening agriculture and serving rural revitalisation, and is moving steadily towards its goal of becoming a high-level university with distinctive features.
