
机构定位与历史沿革
国家农业图书馆(又称中国农业科技文献与信息服务平台,National Agricultural Information System)由中国农业科学院农业信息研究所(简称”信息所”)主办,坐落于北京市海淀区,是国内唯一以国家级农业文献资源体系建设与公益服务为核心任务的综合性专业图书馆。信息所本身由原中国农业科学院科技情报研究所(创立于二十世纪五十年代中期)、中国农业科学院图书馆、中国农业科学院计算中心与中国农业科学院农业宏观研究室等独立机构逐步整合而成,承担国家科技图书文献中心农业分馆牵头建设与全国农业科研系统电子资源共建共享的组织工作,确立数据科学、农业信息管理、农业信息技术、农业信息分析四大学科方向,是全国农业信息技术创新中心和国家农业科学数据中心的共同依托单位。
馆藏体系与数字资源
国家农业图书馆现有馆藏文献二百一十余万册,涵盖图书三十余万册(含古农书、地方志等珍贵资料一万五千余册)、中文及西文科技期刊数千种以及专业电子文献数据库八十余种,平台资源广涉一万二千余种中文全文期刊与九千五百余种外文电子期刊,孤本期刊在全国范围内独具规模。读者既可通过馆藏书刊目录、网络数据库、电子期刊导航与机构知识仓储等十余条数字通道进行跨库检索,也可以申请原文传递、馆际互借、定题服务、SCI 收录与核心期刊检索、科技查新等多项学科咨询服务,资源访问指南、培训讲座、移动图书馆与农知搜索等延伸工具同步支撑远程科研场景,使分散于全国的农业科研、教学和管理机构得以共享同一套国家级文献体系。
重点实验室与学术出版
信息所主导建设的农业农村部农业监测预警技术重点实验室、农业农村部农业大数据重点实验室、农业农村部区块链农业应用重点实验室、国家新闻出版署农业融合出版知识挖掘与知识服务重点实验室等省部级平台相继落户于此,并依托国家农业科学数据总中心、国家农业科学数据中心与北京市农业监测预警工程技术研究中心等条件平台持续输出成果。编辑出版的十二种学术和行业类期刊覆盖作物、园艺、畜牧、兽医、信息技术与图书情报等学科,其中《中国农业科学》《Journal of Integrative Agriculture》《生物技术通报》等三种期刊入选中国科协”卓越计划”,《农业大数据学报》新晋中国科技核心期刊;中国农业期刊集成服务平台(AgriSCI+)和古农文垂直领域大语言模型”齐民”等数字学术产品使传统纸本馆藏延伸为面向全国的智能化学术服务平台。
国际合作与跨域网络
信息所自改革开放初期起即与英国、加拿大、荷兰、美国、韩国、日本、俄罗斯以及联合国粮农组织、国际应用生物科学中心等多个国家和国际组织建立稳定的农业科技合作关系,”十三五”以来签订国际信息科技合作协议二十余份,长期为我院参与 APEC、G20 与金砖国家等国际会议机制提供研究支撑,与世界粮食计划署、粮农组织、国际农业发展基金会、国际农业研究磋商组织、非洲绿色革命联盟等机构保持项目合作,并通过牵头的农业大数据与信息服务联盟将全国农业科研系统电子资源共建共享体系织成跨学科、跨地域的网络。研究生培养方面设有农业信息分析学、农业经济管理、农业信息管理、信息技术与数字农业等博士学位授予点与博士后流动站,在读硕博研究生逾百人并接收十余国留学生,形成面向世界的农业信息学科教研枢纽。

Institutional Positioning and Historical Evolution
The National Agricultural Library (NAL), also known as the National Agricultural Information System (NAIS), is hosted by the Institute of Agricultural Information (AII) of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). Located in Beijing, the institute is the only state-level non-profit research organization in China dedicated to agricultural information science and technology services. It was gradually formed by merging several previously independent bodies including the CAAS Scientific and Technological Information Research Institute, the CAAS Library, the CAAS Computing Center, and the CAAS Macroeconomics Research Office. AII serves as the agricultural branch of the National Science and Technology Library (NSTL) and coordinates the nationwide electronic resource co-building and sharing system across agricultural research institutions.
Holdings and Digital Resource Infrastructure
The library holds more than 2.1 million items in its collection, including over 310,000 monographs and approximately 15,000 rare volumes of ancient agricultural texts and local gazetteers. Its subscriptions cover thousands of Chinese and foreign journals, including roughly 1,100 sole-copy titles, and more than 80 electronic databases provide access to about 12,000 Chinese full-text journals and 9,500 international electronic journals. Researchers can search across catalogues, electronic journals, institutional repositories and recommended web resources, and request document delivery, interlibrary loan, subject-specific retrieval, science and technology novelty search, SCI and core journal verification, and reference consultations. Mobile library tools and the AgriKnowledge Search service extend the platform into remote research workflows.
Key Laboratories and Scholarly Publishing
AII hosts four provincial-ministerial key laboratories covering agricultural monitoring and early warning technology, agricultural big data, blockchain applications in agriculture, and agricultural knowledge mining for integrated publishing. These platforms build on national facilities such as the National Agricultural Scientific Data Center and the Beijing Engineering Technology Research Center for Agricultural Monitoring and Early Warning. AII edits and publishes twelve academic and industry journals covering agronomy, horticulture, livestock, veterinary medicine, information technology and library science. Three flagship titles are indexed in the China Association for Science and Technology Excellence programme, and digital products such as the China Agricultural Journal Integrated Service Platform (AgriSCI+) and the Qimin large language model for ancient agricultural texts have transformed traditional print holdings into a national-scale intelligent scholarly infrastructure.
International Cooperation and Cross-Disciplinary Networks
Since the early reform and opening period, AII has maintained long-term partnerships in agricultural information science and technology with national institutes and organizations in the United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the Russian Federation, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International. During the fourteenth Five-Year Plan period AII signed more than twenty international cooperation agreements and has provided analytical support for CAAS delegations at APEC, G20 and BRICS forums. Active project collaborations continue with the World Food Programme, FAO, IFAD, CGIAR, AGRA and FARA. The Agricultural Big Data and Information Service Alliance under AII leads the construction of the agricultural sub-network within the National Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Alliance, and AII’s graduate programmes in agricultural information analysis, agricultural economics, agricultural information management and information technology support more than 150 master’s and doctoral researchers, including international students from roughly ten countries.
User Services and Strategic Vision
Looking ahead, NAL will continue to support agricultural modernization through information technology under a non-profit research framework, leveraging four nationally affiliated academic associations and a senior professional workforce of more than four hundred full-time researchers. Reader card applications, visiting guidelines, opening hours and library facilities are published online, while detailed communication channels and service procedures are maintained on the official platform and updated regularly. Agricultural researchers, university faculty, students and agri-business partners are encouraged to access the library’s knowledge resources and contribute to the public-good information service system that underpins China’s agricultural innovation capacity.
