历史沿革与办学源流
浙江农林大学位于杭州市临安区,杭州城西科创大走廊西端。学校创建于 1958 年,时称天目林学院;1966 年更名为浙江林学院;2010 年经教育部批准升格更名为浙江农林大学。学校是浙江省人民政府与农业农村部共建高校、浙江省人民政府与国家林业和草原局共建高校、浙江省重点建设高校、浙江省高水平大学建设高校,2024 年 1 月入选浙江省双一流 196 工程高水平大学建设高校单位。六十余年来,学校扎根浙江大地,先后与浙江、福建、广东、江西、江苏、安徽、贵州、四川、新疆等地的 50 多个县(市、区)开展科技推广与社会服务,被评为全国科技特派员工作先进集体、全国社会扶贫先进集体,连续 14 次被评为浙江省科技特派员先进派出单位。
院系设置与学科建设
学校现有东湖、衣锦、诸暨 3 个校区,占地面积 3300 余亩(本部 2841.93 亩、暨阳 542.5 亩),校舍建筑面积 106.1 万平方米(本部 73.5 万平方米、暨阳 32.6 万平方米),仪器设备总值超 7 亿元。本部设有 20 个学院(部),包括 1 个独立学院——浙江农林大学暨阳学院。本部设 60 个本科专业,其中国家级一流专业建设点 14 个、国家级特色专业 4 个、国家卓越农林教育人才培养计划专业 7 个;拥有林学、林业工程、作物学、农业资源与环境、农林经济管理 5 个一级学科博士后科研流动站,学术学位博士授权点 9 个、博士专业学位类别 2 个、学术学位硕士点 21 个、硕士专业学位类别 24 个。学校共有植物与动物科学、工程科学、农业科学、环境/生态学、化学、材料科学、生物与生物化学、一般社会科学、地球科学等 9 个学科领域进入 ESI 全球前 1% 行列,其中植物与动物科学、农业科学 2 个学科领域进入 ESI 全球前 2‰。
师资队伍与人才培养
本部面向 31 个省(市、自治区)招生,现有全日制本科生 20950 人、研究生 6168 人、留学生 1912 人,教职工 2704 人。拥有国家级人才 69 人次、省部级人才 162 人次,享受国务院特殊津贴 17 人,获全国创新争先奖状 1 人,建有全国高校黄大年式教师团队 1 个、国家级教学团队 1 个、教育部创新团队 1 个、农业部农业科研杰出人才及其创新团队 1 个、国家林业和草原科技创新团队 5 个。近年来获得国家级教学成果奖一等奖 1 项、二等奖 2 项,省级教学成果奖一等奖 14 项;国家级一流本科课程 28 门,省级一流本科课程 240 门;学生在各类学科竞赛中获得省部级及以上奖 6000 多项,其中互联网+大学生创新创业大赛全国金奖 1 项、中国国际大学生创新大赛全国金奖 6 项、挑战杯全国大学生课外学术科技作品竞赛全国特等奖 8 项。
科研平台与社会服务
学校拥有全国重点实验室、国家工程技术研究中心、国家地方联合工程实验室、国际茶文化传播基地、国家 111 计划学科引智基地等国家级创新平台 5 个,省部级创新平台 43 个。2025 年 1 月获批重组建设森林食物资源挖掘与利用全国重点实验室。先后获国家技术发明二等奖 1 项、国家科技进步二等奖 10 项、国家科技进步三等奖 1 项,浙江省科学技术一等奖 15 项,教育部科学研究优秀成果奖(人文社会科学)一等奖 1 项,省哲学社会科学优秀成果奖一等奖 8 项。香榧团队案例入选第六届全球最佳减贫案例,干果科技特派员团队被中宣部列为最美科技人员。
国际合作与校园文化
学校坚持开放办学,先后与英国、美国、加拿大、俄罗斯、乌克兰、波兰、澳大利亚等 31 个国家(地区)的 160 余所大学和科研机构签署合作协议,与塞尔维亚诺维萨德大学共建孔子学院,与加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚大学合作举办中外合作办学项目,与赫尔辛基大学等世界名校联合培养人才;获批多个国家留学基金委公派留学项目,年度可选派 70 余名师生公派留学。学校高度重视生态文化建设,两园(校园、植物园)合一的现代化生态校园被教育部、国家林业和草原局授予国家生态文明教育基地,被国家林草局、科技部评为全国首批林草科普基地,被中宣部命名为全国学雷锋活动示范点。校训求真、敬业,精神坚韧不拔、不断超越。
History and Academic Origins
Zhejiang A&F University (ZAFU) is located in Lin’an District of Hangzhou, at the western end of the Hangzhou Chengxi Sci-Tech Innovation Corridor. Founded in 1958 as Tianmu Forestry College, it was renamed Zhejiang Forestry College in 1966 and upgraded to Zhejiang A&F University in 2010 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The university is co-built by the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and with the National Forestry and Grassland Administration; it is also a Zhejiang Provincial Key Construction University and a High-Level University in the province. In January 2024 the university was selected for Zhejiang Province’s Double First-Class 196 Project High-Level University programme. Over more than six decades, ZAFU has carried out science-and-technology extension and rural services in partnership with over 50 counties and districts across nine provinces, and has been recognised nationally as an Advanced Collective for Science-and-Technology Commissioner work, while being named 14 consecutive times as an Outstanding Science-and-Technology Commissioner Sending Unit by Zhejiang Province.
Schools and Disciplines
The university operates three campuses — East Lake, Yijin and Zhuji — covering more than 3,300 mu (approximately 220 hectares), and provides 1.061 million square metres of floor space (730,500 m² on the main campus and 326,000 m² at Jiyang College), with laboratory and equipment assets exceeding CNY 700 million. The main campus comprises 20 schools and teaching divisions, including the independent Jiyang College. The university offers 60 undergraduate programmes, among which 14 are national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, four are national characteristic majors, and seven are enrolled in the National Outstanding Agriculture and Forestry Talent Training Programme. It hosts five postdoctoral research stations in first-level disciplines — Forestry, Forestry Engineering, Crop Science, Agricultural Resources and Environment, and Forestry Economics and Management — alongside nine academic doctoral programmes, two professional doctoral categories, 21 academic master’s programmes and 24 professional master’s categories. Nine disciplines — Plant and Animal Science, Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, Environment and Ecology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Biology and Biochemistry, General Social Sciences, and Earth Science — rank in the global top 1% of ESI, with Plant and Animal Science and Agricultural Sciences additionally in the top 2‰.
Faculty and Talent Development
ZAFU enrols undergraduates from 31 provincial-level administrative regions across the country and currently has 20,950 full-time undergraduates, 6,168 graduate students and 1,912 international students, supported by 2,704 staff members. The faculty includes 69 national-level talents, 162 provincial-and-ministerial-level talents, 17 recipients of the State Council Special Allowance, and one National Innovation Competition Award recipient. It hosts one Huang Danian-style Teacher Team at national level, one national teaching team, one Ministry of Education innovation team, one Ministry of Agriculture outstanding talent team and five National Forestry and Grassland Science and Technology Innovation Teams. Recent recognitions include one first prize and two second prizes of the National Teaching Achievement Award, alongside 14 first prizes of the Provincial Teaching Achievement Award; 28 national first-class undergraduate courses and 240 provincial first-class courses. ZAFU students have received more than 6,000 provincial-and-ministerial-level awards, including one national gold medal of the Internet+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, six national gold medals of the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition, and eight national grand prizes of the Challenge Cup.
Research Platforms and Extension Services
The university hosts five national-level innovation platforms — a National Key Laboratory, a National Engineering Technology Research Center, a National-Local Joint Engineering Laboratory, an International Tea Culture Communication Base and a 111 Programme Discipline Introduction Base for Overseas Scholars — together with 43 provincial-and-ministerial innovation platforms. In January 2025 the university was approved to reorganise and build the National Key Laboratory for Forest Food Resource Discovery and Utilisation. Research recognisions include one National Technology Invention Second Prize, ten National Science and Technology Progress Second Prizes, one National Science and Technology Progress Third Prize, 15 Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology First Prizes, one Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences First Prize, and eight Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement First Prizes. The Torreya (Chinese nut) team’s case was selected for the Sixth Global Best Poverty Reduction Cases, while the Dried-Fruit Science and Technology Commissioner Team was named among the Most Beautiful Science and Technology Workers by the Central Publicity Department.
International Cooperation and Campus Culture
Adhering to open education, ZAFU has signed cooperation agreements with more than 160 universities and research institutions across the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Australia and 31 other countries and regions. It jointly established a Confucius Institute with the University of Novi Sad in Serbia, runs a Sino-foreign cooperative education programme with the University of British Columbia in Canada, and collaborates with the University of Helsinki and other world-renowned institutions in joint talent training. Multiple China Scholarship Council programmes have been approved, enabling more than 70 faculty and students each year to pursue visiting scholarships abroad. The university attaches great importance to ecological culture, with the two gardens in one modern ecological campus — integrating the academic campus and the botanical garden — being designated a National Ecological Civilization Education Base by the Ministry of Education and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, named among the first batch of national forestry-and-grassland science popularisation bases, and recognised as a National Demonstration Site for Learn from Lei Feng Activities by the Central Publicity Department. The university motto is Seeking Truth and Being Dedicated, and the university spirit is Tenacious and Continuously Transcending.
