Who is Van den Bos Flowerbulbs
Founded in 1946 in the Westland region of the Netherlands, Van den Bos Flowerbulbs has grown from a small family business into a global leader in flower bulb innovation and distribution. We deliver bulbs to professional growers of potted plants and cut flowers. With locations across four continents and customers in more than 60 countries, we specialize in bulbs for lilies, freesias, and callas – offering over 500 top-quality varieties.
As we have access to bulbs grown in both the Northern and the Southern hemisphere, we’re able to guarantee year-round availability and consistency. Many of our varieties are sold on a (semi)-exclusive basis, allowing us to offer a truly unique assortment.
Our success is built on generations of craftsmanship, a spirit of innovation, and strong partnerships with our growers, breeders, and customers.
Our services
From harvest to delivery, we ensure each bulb meets our high standards. Upon arrival at our facilities, all incoming bulbs and corms are carefully inspected by our quality team.
Approved lily bulbs are rinsed (if necessary), disinfected, and packed into crates. They are then frozen and stored in controlled cooling cells. We monitor temperature, humidity, and sugar levels daily – even during storage, our bulbs are under continuous control.
Each batch is also tested in our dedicated trial greenhouse. Our quality controllers monitor the growth closely.
Approved freesia corms are carefully sorted, dried, and packed into ventilated crates for optimal air circulation, then stored under controlled conditions. Before shipment, they move to a preparation cell where root development begins. Temperature and humidity are monitored throughout to ensure consistent, high-quality corms.
