
机构概况
秦岭国家植物园位于秦岭北麓中段的陕西省西安市周至县境内,距西安市区70公里,为陕西省人民政府直属正厅级公益一类事业单位,由陕西省人民政府、国家林业和草原局、中国科学院、西安市人民政府联合共建。园区规划面积639平方公里,海拔480米至3003米,相对高差达2523米,囊括高山、中山、低山、丘陵和平原五个地貌单元,是世界上规划面积最大、植被分带最清晰、最具自然风貌的山岳型综合性植物园。2007年启动建设,2017年9月正式开园,2023年获评国家AAAA级景区。
科研保护
园区已建成245平方公里生物就地保护区及10平方公里迁地保护区,引种保护植物6745种,涵盖225科1345属,收集保护国家重点保护植物127种,馆藏植物标本4万余份,秦岭受威胁植物物种75%以上实现迁地保护。核心区域分布大片原始森林,森林覆盖率达95%以上,维管植物达1291种,保护了我国最北端野生蕙兰种群及罕见水晶兰种群。羚牛、金丝猴等珍稀动物在园区频繁出现。
科普教育
园区建有科普馆、标本馆、温带馆等科研科普功能设施,设有35个专科专类园(海棠园、木兰园、蔷薇园等),先后组织科普宣讲活动186场,年入园研学中小学生达10万人次,被命名为”国家青少年自然教育绿色营地”、”全国中小学生研学实践教育基地”、”全国首批科普教育基地”,荣获”全国科普工作先进集体”称号。中央电视台及《人民日报》多次报道园区开园及科研保护成果。2026年主题活动包括”山林有约——邂逅秦岭绿色珍宝”公益科普及”我在秦岭有棵树”树木认养项目。

Institutional Overview
Qinling National Botanical Garden is located in Zhouzhi County, Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, at the middle section of the north slope of the Qinling Mountains, 70 kilometers from downtown Xi’an. It is a public institution directly administered by the Shaanxi Provincial Government, jointly developed by the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Xi’an Municipal Government. The garden covers 639 square kilometers with elevations ranging from 480 to 3,003 meters, encompassing five landform units including alpine, mid-mountain, low-mountain, hilly, and plain areas. Recognized as the world’s largest planned botanical garden with the clearest vegetation zoning and most pristine natural landscape, construction began in 2007 and the garden officially opened in September 2017, earning AAAA-level scenic area status in 2023.
Scientific Research and Conservation
The garden has established a 245-square-kilometer in-situ conservation area and a 10-square-kilometer ex-situ conservation area, protecting 6,745 plant species across 225 families and 1,345 genera, including 127 national key protected plant species and over 40,000 plant specimens. More than 75% of threatened plant species in the Qinling Mountains have been ex-situ conserved. The core area contains large expanses of primary forest with forest coverage exceeding 95%, 1,291 vascular plant species, and protects China’s northernmost wild Cymbidium goeringii population and rare Monotropastrum populations. Rare animals such as golden snub-nosed monkeys and takin are frequently observed in the garden.
Science Education
Facilities include a science museum, herbarium, and greenhouse complex, along with 35 specialized gardens (including crabapple, magnolia, and rose gardens) and a 25,000-square-meter introduction base. The garden has organized 186 science education activities, hosting 100,000 student visitors annually. It has been designated as a “National Youth Natural Education Green Camp,” “National Student Research and Practice Education Base,” and “National First Batch of Science Education Bases,” and received the “National Science Popularization Work Advanced Collective” honor. CCTV and People’s Daily have repeatedly covered the garden’s opening and conservation achievements.
