“上海辰山植物园”（以下简称”辰山”）位于上海松江区佘山国家旅游度假区内，由上海市人民政府、中国科学院和国家林草局合作共建，占地207公顷，于2010年4月初步建成并对外开放，以”国内领先、国际一流”为目标，以”精研植物、爱传大众”为使命。
科研实力
辰山科研聚焦”次生代谢与资源植物开发利用”、”植物多样性保育”及”园艺与生物技术”三大方向，建有”上海市资源植物功能基因组学重点实验室”等省部级科研基地，形成”一室两中心三平台”科研创新载体。拥有18支研究团队、超过80名科研人员及100余名研究生，至今承担科研项目466项，发表学术论文1200余篇（SCI收录517篇），出版专著137部，获授权专利80项，培育植物新品种100余个，多项研究发表于《Nature Plants》、《Nature Communications》等国际高水平期刊，荣获中国风景园林学会科技进步一等奖。
植物保护
辰山已收集保存野生植物10261种，迁地保护国家重点保护野生植物281种、珍稀濒危植物1017种。获批建立唇形科等4个国家级种质资源库、1个国际荷花资源圃，成立”国家重要野生植物种质资源库辰山中心”，构建华东植物保护工作网络和”华东植物在线”数据平台，系统开展兰科、蕨类、鼠尾草属等珍稀濒危植物保护生物学研究。
专类园区
辰山园区由中心展示区、植物保育区、五大洲植物区和外围缓冲区四大功能区构成，设有26个专类园。矿坑花园原址属百年人工采矿遗迹，结合中国古代”桃花源”隐逸思想，利用现有山水条件营造出独特景观。展览温室总面积12608平方米，由热带花果馆、沙生植物馆和珍奇植物馆组成，其中沙生植物馆为世界最大室内沙生植物展馆，热带花果馆以”花与果”为主题展示热带植物景观，珍奇植物馆以”生存与进化”为主题展示珍奇植物及其演化智慧。月季园、药用植物园、木樨园、城市菜园、春花园和观赏草园等各具特色，形成风格各异、季相分明、步移景异的丰富植物景观。
科普教育
辰山先后建成热带植物体验馆、4D科普影院、树屋、海盗船、儿童园、勇者之路攀爬网、空中藤蔓园等科普体验设施，每年策划实施科普活动不低于100场，直接科普受众上10万人。形成”宝宝坐王莲”（幼儿）、”辰山奇妙夜”科普夏令营（小学生）、”准科学家”培养计划（中学生）以及”园艺大讲堂”（成人）等特色品牌，被评为全国中小学研学实践教育基地、全国科普教育基地及上海市专题性科普场馆。
Overview
Shanghai Chenshan Plant Garden (Chenshan) is a comprehensive botanical garden in Sheshan National Tourism Resort, Songjiang District, Shanghai. Co-built by Shanghai Municipal Government, Chinese Academy of Sciences and National Forestry and Grassland Administration, it covers 207 hectares and opened in April 2010. With the goal of “domestic leading, international first-class,” it is dedicated to plant collection, research and utilization.
Scientific Research
Research focuses on three directions: “Secondary Metabolism and Resource Plant Development,” “Plant Biodiversity Conservation” and “Horticulture and Biotechnology.” With 18 research teams, 80+ researchers and 100+ graduate students, it has undertaken 466 projects, published 1,200+ papers (517 SCI-indexed) in Nature Plants, Nature Communications and Molecular Plant, obtained 80 patents and bred 100+ new plant varieties, winning the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress from Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture.
Plant Conservation
The garden has preserved 10,261 wild plant species, protected 281 nationally protected and 1,017 rare and endangered species. It has established four national germplasm resource banks and one international lotus garden, forming the East China Plant Conservation Network and “East China Plants Online” data platform.

Mine Pit Garden, Exhibition Greenhouse (12,608 m² – the largest in Asia, with the world’s largest indoor succulent hall), Rose Garden, Medicinal Plant Garden, Spring Garden and Ornamental Grass Garden among its 26 specialty gardens.
