园区概况
圣安德鲁斯大学植物园（St Andrews Botanic Garden）坐落于苏格兰法夫郡的历史名城圣安德鲁斯，地址为Canongate，邮编KY16 8RT。这座占地18英亩的植物园被誉为苏格兰的”隐藏瑰宝”，距离圣安德鲁斯市中心仅数分钟步行距离，由圣安德鲁斯大学于1889年创立，1960年迁至现址，现由大学、法夫议会及圣安德鲁斯大学植物园信托基金共同管理。
植物收藏
园区收藏超过4500种有数据库记录的植物，尤其以贝母属、雪滴花属、杜鹃花属、花楸属及荚莲属植物的收藏见长。所有室外植物通过砾石床、岩石区、废墟、池塘、林地和沙丘等微栖境实现以生境为导向的种植。
特色景观
园区最独特的标志是”纠缠带”（Tangled Bank）项目——据称为全球唯一存在于植物园内的沙丘实验系统，保护苏格兰法夫郡受威胁沙丘生境的特色植物。另有岩石花园（春季高山植物）、中国植物区、智利植物区及多个玻璃温室。

2025年荣获英国皇家园艺学会（RHS）”本周最佳合作花园”称号，并推出”纠缠带”长期监测项目，与苏格兰、英格兰及瑞典多个研究站点合作记录温带生态变化。园区每年接待学校参访、亲子活动及社区工作坊，提供轮椅租赁及无障碍通道。

Garden Overview
The St Andrews Botanic Garden is situated in the historic university town of St Andrews, Fife, Scotland (Canongate, KY16 8RT). Spanning 18 acres, this “hidden gem” of Scotland is just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre. Founded by the University of St Andrews in 1889 and relocated to its present site in 1960, it is now managed in partnership by the university, Fife Council, and the St Andrews Botanic Garden Trust.
Plant Collections
The garden houses over 4,500 databased plants with particular strength in Fritillaria, Galanthus, Rhododendron, Sorbus (sensu lato), and Viburnum. All outdoor plants are grown year-round using carefully designed habitats including scree beds, rock gardens, rubble walls, ponds, woodlands and sand dunes for habitat-led cultivation.
Distinctive Features
One of the garden’s most distinctive features is the Tangled Bank—a unique sand dune experimental system believed to be the only one of its kind in any botanic garden worldwide, dedicated to conserving plants from Fife’s threatened sand dune habitats. Additional highlights include a Rock Garden with spectacular alpine displays in spring, dedicated Chinese and Chilean flora sections, and multiple glasshouses.
Recognition and Research
In 2025, the garden was honoured as the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) Partner Garden of the Week. The Tangled Bank long-term monitoring project collaborates with sites in Scotland, England and Sweden to record changes in species abundance and diversity across temperate habitats. The garden hosts school visits, family events and community workshops throughout the year.
