俱乐部简介与发展历程
Bonsai Northwest Inc 是位于澳大利亚墨尔本的非营利盆景兴趣团体,1973 年由 Eunice Gill 女士创立,起初名为 Sunshine Bonsai Group,2000 年 1 月更名为 Bonsai Northwest Incorporated,以反映其面向墨尔本西北郊区的服务范围。俱乐部现有约 150 名会员,长期致力于推广盆景艺术、协助初学者入门以及为资深爱好者提供持续精进的机会。
活动与教育项目
俱乐部每月举办教学示范与动手工作坊,内容涵盖盆景创作、修剪、整姿、养护等核心技艺,并定期邀请国内外知名盆景艺术家担任客座导师,曾接待过日本 Koji Hiramatsu、印尼 Robert Steven、美国 William N. Valavanis 与 Bjorn Bjorholm 等国际级大师。每月会刊则汇总活动纪要、季节养护要点与会员心得分享。
会员服务与月度聚会
俱乐部活动地点为墨尔本阿伯费尔迪社区中心(Aberfeldie Community Club),通常每月第一个周一晚 7:30 举行,会员可在现场交换盆景工具、盆器与素材,并借阅藏书逾 200 册的盆景图书与杂志。新会员可在任何一次聚会自由旁听,再决定是否正式加入。
公开展览与协会交流
俱乐部每年定期举办公开展览与销售会,2026 年展览日为 7 月 16 至 17 日,在 Footscray 社区艺术中心举办。俱乐部亦承办澳大利亚盆景协会(AABC)全国大会,曾于 2007、2012 与 2018 年三次主办 AABC 全国盆景大会,邀请国际级嘉宾进行示范。

Club Origins and Development
Bonsai Northwest Inc is a non profit bonsai interest group based in Melbourne, Australia. Founded in 1973 by Mrs Eunice Gill under the name Sunshine Bonsai Group, the organisation adopted its current name Bonsai Northwest Incorporated on 1 January 2000 to better reflect its service area across the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne. The club currently maintains a membership of approximately 150 enthusiasts dedicated to the practice and appreciation of bonsai.
Monthly Activities and Education Programs
The club hosts monthly instructive demonstrations and hands on workshops led by experienced members and invited guest demonstrators, covering propagation, pruning, wiring, repotting and seasonal care. Notable international guests have included Japanese master Koji Hiramatsu, Indonesian artist Robert Steven, and American artists William N. Valavanis and Bjorn Bjorholm. An informative monthly newsletter distributes tips, club news and member contributions.
Membership Services and Meeting Format
Meetings are held at 7:30pm on the first Monday of each month (excluding January) at the Aberfeldie Community Club, located in Essendon, Victoria. New members are welcome to attend any gathering as observers before deciding to join. Members enjoy access to a library of more than 200 bonsai books, magazines and DVDs, as well as club-priced pots, wire and tools.
Public Exhibitions and AABC Convention Hosting
The club stages a major annual bonsai exhibition and sale, with the 2026 edition scheduled for 16 to 17 July at the Footscray Community Arts Centre. Bonsai Northwest has also hosted the AABC National Bonsai Convention three times, in 2007, 2012 and 2018, each featuring international demonstrators and attracting visitors from across Australia and overseas.
