History & Background
Weinsberger Rosenkulturen GbR is a family-run rose nursery on Heilbronner Straße 101 in Weinsberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, with a rose-growing tradition of more than 115 years. The business is run jointly by Hannelore Kutofsky and Volker Kutofsky and is one of the leading rose nurseries in the south-German region (süddeutscher Raum). Its cultivated roses are sold both as potted plants and as cut flowers, with customers ranging from large wholesalers and retail outlets to private gardeners well beyond the town of Weinsberg. A 30-person team upholds three long-standing principles across floristry, nursery, horticulture and sales: consistent quality, dependable service and honest advice.
Five Core Services
Weinsberger Rosenkulturen offers five core services alongside its rose retail: floristry (Floristik), grave care (Grabpflege), tree nursery (Baumschule), horticulture (Gärtnerei) and a regular flower subscription (Blumenabo), supported by a written Anwachsgarantie (establishment guarantee). The floristry team creates bouquets, arrangements and decorations for weddings, funerals, christenings and other occasions; the nursery team assists with new plantings and garden redesigns; the horticulture centre cultivates around 100 species of bedding and balcony plants on more than 5,000 m² of greenhouse space; and the flower subscription delivers fresh bouquets on a recurring basis to subscribers in Weinsberg, Heilbronn and the surrounding area. Customers can buy on the nursery’s on-site sales grounds or order through the Weinsberger online shop, with rose mail order (Rosenversand) shipping plants directly from the nursery.
Rose Assortment & Breeding Sources
The online shop lists more than 90 rose varieties grouped into 18 categories, covering hybrid tea roses (Edelrosen), bedding roses (Beetrosen), shrub roses (Strauchrosen), English roses (Englische Rosen), ground-cover and small shrub roses (Bodendecker- und Kleinstrauchrosen), climbing roses (Kletterrosen), miniature roses (Zwergrosen) and Flower Carpet roses. The roses are sourced from seven internationally recognised rose breeders: the German houses Noack, Kordes, Tantau, Nirp, Rosen Union and BKN Strobel, together with David Austin Roses in the United Kingdom. The shop also stocks rose fertiliser (Dünger), plant protection products (Pflanzenschutz), garden tools (Werkzeug) and terracotta and plastic containers (Gefäße & Töpfe), so gardeners can obtain the full range of materials required for planting and caring for roses in one place.
Site, Greenhouses & Sales Channels
The on-site grounds combine display, sales and cultivation. The horticulture greenhouses cover more than 5,000 m² and rely on modern equipment such as nitrate testers, automated irrigation and climate computers to keep cultivation both environmentally responsible and efficient, producing a near year-round succession from primulas to poinsettias. The retail area brings floristry, nursery and horticulture under one roof, supplying cut flowers, shrubs, trees and ornamental plants alongside expert rose advice. Online, the shop exposes the same 90-plus varieties across all 18 categories, with downloadable product catalogues (Weinsberger Downloads), planting guides (Pflanzanleitungen) and a detailed explanation of the rose quality grades (Erklärung zu den Rosenqualitäten), covering A-grade bare-root bush roses, the A Sta 40/60/90/120/140 bare-root standard roses at the indicated stem heights and AC 3 to AC 6 container sizes.
Plant Passport & Establishment Guarantee
Weinsberger Rosenkulturen holds an official EU plant passport (EG-Pflanzenpass) issued by Baden-Württemberg under number D-BW-1-12-2057, and its VAT identification number (USt-IdNr.) is DE 260 766 229, in line with EU plant-health requirements for cross-border trade. The nursery provides a written establishment guarantee on its roses and plants: customers who plant and tend the stock correctly using fertiliser and substrate bought from the nursery are entitled to a free replacement or a credit note for any plant that fails to establish, provided the failed plant is returned.
