建校历史与办学定位

东北农业大学(Northeast Agricultural University,缩写 NEAU)创建于 1948 年 11 月,是中国共产党在解放区创办的第一所普通高等农业院校,创办地哈尔滨,首任院长为知名教育家、哈尔滨市首任市长刘达。学校先后隶属东北行政委员会农业部、国家高等教育部、国家农业部、黑龙江省农业委员会与黑龙江省教育厅,1994 年与黑龙江省农业管理干部学院合并组建为现名,1996 年跻身国家「211 工程」重点建设大学,2017 年入选国家世界一流学科建设高校,2022 年再入第二轮国家「双一流」建设高校名单,2025 年又入选全国首批高等教育综合改革试点高校,是黑龙江省省属高校中唯一的国家「双一流」建设高校,也是东北三省一区唯一的「双一流」农业院校。

学科建设与人才培养矩阵

学校围绕「以农科为优势,以生命科学和食品科学为特色,农、工、理、经、管等多学科协调发展」的办学定位,下设 17 个学院和 1 个教学部,拥有 1 个国家世界一流建设学科、3 个国家重点学科与 3 个国家重点(培育)学科,2 个 ESI 全球前 1‰ 学科领域、9 个 ESI 全球前 1% 学科领域;设有 12 个博士学位授权一级学科点、21 个硕士学位授权一级学科点、3 个博士专业学位授权类别与 19 个硕士专业学位授权类别、10 个博士后科研流动站与 2 个博士后科研工作站;本科专业 76 个,其中国家级特色专业 10 个、国家级一流本科专业建设点 24 个。现有专任教师 1632 人,其中教授 387 人、副教授 581 人,博士生导师 440 人,硕士生导师 538 人;全日制在校生 34336 人,其中本科生 24975 人、研究生 9068 人。

科研平台与社会服务成果

学校构建了完善的科研平台与社会服务体系,现有省部级以上科研平台 79 个,其中包括 1 个全国重点实验室(依托单位之一)、1 个国家生物育种产教融合创新平台、1 个国家级工程研究中心、2 个国家级工程技术研究中心、3 个教育部重点实验室、1 个教育部省部共建协同创新中心、7 个农业农村部重点实验室,并设有国家级大学科技园 1 个,入选高等学校新农村发展研究院首批建设院校。建校以来累计获得省部级以上科技奖励 690 余项,其中国家自然科学奖、发明奖和科技进步奖 38 项,先后 11 次获得黑龙江省省长特别奖和重大科技效益奖,主办《东北农业大学学报(自然科学版)》《东北农业大学学报(英文版)》《东北农业大学学报(社会科学版)》《中国乳品工业》《中国马铃薯》《大豆科技》等学术期刊。

国际交流与开放办学

学校坚持开放办学,是首批具有接收中国政府奖学金来华留学生资格的高校之一,设有教育部赴俄留学培训基地,并担任中国东北地区与俄罗斯远东及西伯利亚地区大学校长论坛中方秘书处单位,已与俄罗斯、日本、韩国、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、爱尔兰等 23 个国家和地区的 111 所高校及科研单位建立合作关系,初步形成了「以东北亚为主、博采众长」的国际交流特色,在对俄、对日韩农业教育与科技合作领域长期走在国内农业院校前列。

校园规模与精神传承

学校校园占地面积 501.5 万平方米,总建筑面积 96.3 万平方米,教学科研仪器设备总值 13.6 亿元,入选首批国家级节约型公共机构示范单位;先后获评全国「五一劳动奖状」、全国先进基层党组织、全国深化创新创业教育改革示范高校、全国创新创业典型经验高校、全国厂务公开民主管理先进单位等荣誉称号,2025 年获评「全国五四红旗团委」。学校秉承「博学笃行、明德亲民」的校训,弘扬「勤奋、求实、奉献、创新」的校风,聚焦世界一流农业大学建设目标,立足「红色农业第一校、现代化大农业排头兵」特色品牌,在服务中国式现代化、建设农业强国与龙江振兴发展的宏伟实践中持续贡献「东农力量」。


Founding History and Institutional Positioning

Northeast Agricultural University (NEAU) was founded in November 1948 in Harbin as the first regular higher agricultural institution established by the Communist Party of China in the liberated areas, with the renowned educator and first Mayor of Harbin, Mr. Liu Da, serving as its founding president. NEAU has successively been administered by the Northeast Administrative Committee Ministry of Agriculture, the State Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Heilongjiang Provincial Agricultural Committee, and the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education. In 1994 NEAU was reorganized through a merger with the Heilongjiang Provincial Agricultural Management Cadre Institute. The university entered the national Project 211 in 1996, was selected into the national Double First-Class University Initiative in 2017, was renewed into the second round of the Double First-Class program in 2022, and became one of the first pilot universities of the national comprehensive higher education reform in 2025. NEAU remains the only Double First-Class institution under Heilongjiang Province and the only Double First-Class agricultural university across the three northeastern provinces and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Academic Programs and Talent Cultivation

Built on the positioning of agricultural sciences as the core strength, with life sciences and food sciences as distinctive features, and coordinated development of agricultural, engineering, science, economics, management and other disciplines, NEAU today comprises 17 schools and 1 teaching department. The university hosts 1 national world-class discipline, 3 national key disciplines, 3 national key disciplines under cultivation, 2 ESI top one-per-thousand fields, and 9 ESI top one-percent fields. It offers 12 doctoral degree authorization first-level disciplines, 21 master degree authorization first-level disciplines, 3 doctoral professional degree categories, 19 master professional degree categories, 10 postdoctoral research stations and 2 postdoctoral research workstations. NEAU runs 76 undergraduate programs, including 10 national characteristic specialties and 24 national first-class undergraduate program construction sites. The university has 1632 full-time faculty members, including 387 professors and 581 associate professors, with 440 doctoral supervisors and 538 master supervisors. Total enrollment stands at 34336 full-time students, comprising 24975 undergraduates and 9068 graduate students.

Research Platforms and Societal Service

NEAU has built a comprehensive research platform and societal service system that includes 79 provincial-ministerial or higher-level research platforms. These include 1 national key laboratory (as a supporting unit), 1 national bio-breeding industry-education integration innovation platform, 1 national engineering research center, 2 national engineering technology research centers, 3 Ministry of Education key laboratories, 1 Ministry of Education provincial-ministerial co-built collaborative innovation center, and 7 Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs key laboratories, along with 1 national university science park. NEAU was among the first batch of universities designated as New Rural Development Research Institutes by the Ministry of Education. Since its founding, NEAU has received over 690 provincial-ministerial or higher-level scientific and technological awards, including 38 national awards spanning the State Natural Science Award, the State Invention Award, and the State Science and Technology Progress Award. The university hosts academic journals including the Journal of Northeast Agricultural University (Natural Science Edition), the Journal of Northeast Agricultural University (English Edition), the Journal of Northeast Agricultural University (Social Science Edition), the China Dairy Industry, the Chinese Potato Journal, and the Soybean Science and Technology.

International Cooperation and Open Education

NEAU adheres to open education and is among the first batch of Chinese higher education institutions qualified to receive Chinese Government Scholarship international students. The university hosts a Ministry of Education training base for study in Russia and serves as the Chinese Secretariat of the University Presidents Forum between Northeast China and the Russian Far East and Siberia regions. NEAU has established cooperative relationships with 111 universities and research institutions across 23 countries and regions including Russia, Japan, Korea, the United States, Canada, Australia and Ireland, and has gradually formed an international cooperation profile centered on Northeast Asia while drawing on broader global strengths. NEAU has long been at the forefront of Chinese agricultural universities in academic and scientific cooperation with Russia, Japan and Korea.

Campus Scale and Institutional Heritage

NEAU’s campus covers 5.015 million square meters with a total building area of 963000 square meters. Teaching and research instruments and equipment are valued at 1.36 billion yuan, and the university has been designated as one of the first national model units for conservation-oriented public institutions. NEAU has been recognized with honors including the national May 1st Labor Award, the national Advanced Basic-Level Party Organization, the national Model University for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform, the national Model University with Typical Experience in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the national Advanced Unit for Factory Affairs Disclosure and Democratic Management, and in 2025 NEAU was honored as the national May 4th Red-Banner Youth League Committee. Guided by the motto Broad Learning and Resolute Practice, Virtue and Service to the People, and the work ethic of Diligence, Realism, Dedication and Innovation, NEAU is advancing its goal of becoming a world-class agricultural university and continuing to contribute to Chinese-style modernization and the revitalization of Heilongjiang Province.
