质量控制与认证
苗圃按德国苗圃业联合会（Bund deutscher Baumschulen, BdB）的现行规范运营，是该会及德国园艺总会（Zentralverband Gartenbau e.V.）成员。圃内所有苗木出圃前均经过逐株质量把关，长年合作的固定员工与现代化容器栽培设备共同保障稳定的产品质量。苗圃自 1953 年起承担”苗圃方向园艺师（Gärner Fachrichtung Baumschule）”职业培训，长期为本地区输送具备资质的园艺技术人才。

Nursery Overview
Baumschule Nielsen is a family-run nursery in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany, today managed in its fourth generation by Angelika Nielsen and Christian Nielsen. The nursery was founded in 1925 by Robert Nielsen in Meßhausen near Soltau and moved to its present site on Wiedinger Weg in 1938. The holding covers about 7.5 hectares and carries more than 150,000 plants in active stock, making it one of the few family nurseries in the area that combines large-scale container cultivation with on-site propagation.
Range and Scale
The nursery’s two flagship lines are Japanese maple (Acer palmatum) and rhododendrons (Rhododendron), and it keeps roughly 90 Japanese maple cultivars, more than 200 rhododendron and related cultivars, over 100 Echinacea cultivars, a wide selection of dwarf conifers, and a broad range of perennials in production at any one time. More than 90 percent of the plants sold are raised on site from young stock, including rhododendrons, Japanese maples, and two own-bred Japanese maple selections as well as two own-bred Calluna vulgaris cultivars. Propagation, bed management, re-potting and formative pruning are all carried out in-house.
Quality and Certification
The nursery operates to the current codes of the Bund deutscher Baumschulen (BdB), the German nursery trade association, and is also a member of the Zentralverband Gartenbau e.V. All plants are quality-checked plant by plant before despatch, supported by a long-standing core team and modern container-cultivation equipment. Since 1953 the nursery has trained apprentices in the Gärner Fachrichtung Baumschule trade, supplying the region with qualified horticultural staff over several decades.
Trade and Distribution
The nursery runs a parallel wholesale and retail operation (Privat- und Wiederverkauf), selling direct from the holding to private customers and hobby gardeners while also supplying garden centres, landscape contractors, and partner nurseries in the Bremen, Hamburg and Hannover metropolitan areas on a regular basis. Local municipalities and public green-space projects are also part of the customer base. Customers can select plants on site or order in advance; for larger or unusually shaped specimens the nursery can send photos before despatch, and remote enquiries are handled by phone and email.
Horticultural Value and Location
The nursery sits on the northern edge of the Lüneburger Heide in Soltau, Lower Saxony, roughly 70 km south of Hamburg and 90 km north of Hannover. The cool, moist Atlantic-margin climate suits rhododendrons, Japanese maples and a wide range of hardy perennials. Visitors approaching from Bremen, Hannover or Hamburg follow the B71 into Soltau and then on-site signage to the nursery entrance; advance booking is recommended so that staff can be on hand for selection and advice.
