机构概况
EBS Nederland 是 European Bamboo Society（欧洲竹子协会）在荷兰本国的正式分会，1991 年由一群竹子爱好者在荷兰注册成立，目前在 Benelux（荷兰、比利时、卢森堡）三国共有约 200 名付费会员，是一家非营利的 vereniging（协会）。成员结构横跨发烧友、业余种植者，也包括专业苗圃种植者、行业贸易商、加工制造商、研究机构和几家植物园。

个人会员年费 €35，双人（partner）年费 €40，此外还有一种于每年 7 月 1 日到 12 月 31 日加入的半年期会员，费用 €17.50，次年自动转为个人年会员。会员可获《Bamboe》季刊、协会签约苗圃 10% 折扣、聚会与活动报名优惠、仅对会员开放的 Facebook 私享群与会员卡，会方也会在合适时节针对相关产品提供折扣。

About the Association
EBS Nederland is the Dutch chapter of the European Bamboo Society. It was founded in 1991 by bamboo enthusiasts in the Netherlands and registered as a non-profit vereniging. The association has around 200 paying members across the Benelux (the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg). Its membership ranges from hobby gardeners to professional bamboo growers, traders, manufacturers, scientists and a few botanical gardens.
Meetings and the Magazine
The society organises three to four member meetings every year in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, often combined with visits to private collections, nurseries or botanical gardens; an exchange mart is sometimes attached. It also publishes the full-colour magazine Bamboe three times a year, with articles on cultivation, garden experience, industrial use and international bamboo news. Sister chapters such as EBS Great Britain and EBS Germany regularly send speakers to the Dutch meetings, and EBS Nederland organises trips to bamboo collections in other European countries.
Demo Garden and Public Outreach
EBS runs a private demonstration garden called the « EBS voorbeeldtuin », which shows bamboo species that grow reliably in the Dutch and Flemish climate. The garden is normally open to members only, and outside visitors can arrange a visit by emailing the secretariat in advance. The website carries a short FAQ titled « Misverstanden over bamboe » (common misconceptions about bamboo) and a « De wereld van bamboe » section covering bamboo in the garden and in everyday life.
Membership and Fees
An individual annual subscription costs €35, a partner subscription €40 and a second-half-year subscription (1 July to 31 December) €17.50, which converts to an individual annual subscription the following year. Members receive the quarterly Bamboe magazine, a 10 % discount at associated Dutch nurseries, reduced rates on excursions and conferences, access to the members-only Facebook group, the EBS member card, and occasional discounts on bamboo-related products.
Secretariat and the Wider Network
The secretariat is run by long-standing member David Modijefsky and is based in Woerden, in the province of Utrecht in the central Netherlands, where the day-to-day administration and editorial work for Bamboe are carried out. EBS Nederland keeps close contact with sister chapters across Europe, sharing speakers and trips, and serves as the main point of contact for bamboo enthusiasts in the Benelux. The secretariat e-mail address is listed on the « Contact » page of the official website and routes incoming questions to the volunteer editors handling each topic.
