歷史沿革

國立花蓮高級農業職業學校創立於民國10年4月(1921年),最初校名為「花蓮港街立簡易農業學校」,附設於花蓮公學(今明禮國民小學),開辦之初為四年制,專收阿美族原住民子弟,是臺灣東部歷史最悠久的農業職業學校之一。民國11年更名為「花蓮農業補習學校」,民國17年遷移至花蓮舊新港街(今明義國民小學),民國22年再遷至吉簿村防空學校舊址。民國31年8月學校遷至現址花蓮市建國路161號,更名為「花蓮港廳立農林學校」。民國34年臺灣光復後改稱「台灣省立花蓮農業職業學校」,改為三三學制,初、高級兩部並設,高級部設有農藝、森林兩科。民國59年(1970年)正式更名為「台灣省立花蓮高級農業職業學校」,並增設園藝科;民國89年(2000年)2月奉令改制為「國立花蓮高級農業職業學校」,隸屬於教育部國民及學前教育署,是國家重要的東部農業人才培育基地。

學科體系與特色科組

學校因應社會變遷、時代潮流及產業需求,朝向多元學習課程規劃,目前設有農業群、商業群、餐旅群、食品群、土木建築群、機械群六大學群共九科,另設立綜合職能科,合計十個科別。農業群包含農場經營科、森林科、畜產保健科、園藝科,傳承百年農學傳統;商業群設有資料處理科;餐旅群設有餐飲管理科;食品群設有食品加工科;土木建築群設有土木科;機械群設有生物產業機電科。校訓為「孝、悌、力、田」,體現中華傳統倫理與農業勤勉精神,期勉學子兼具品德修養與專業技能。學校歷年榮獲教育部校務評鑑優等,並獲選為優質高中職,辦學成效卓著。

師資人才與辦學規模

學校現有專任教師數十位,設有校長室、教務處、學務處、總務處、實習處、圖書館、輔導室、人事室、主計室等行政單位,組織健全,行政支援教學積極主動。教學單位依學群分設,鼓勵教師共同參與課程設計,規劃適應學生自我發展的教材及教學方法,講求創意與創新。本校歷屆畢業校友約二萬餘人,分布國內外各個角落,在農業技術、教育、研究、公職等領域均有傑出表現,是培育國家農業技術人才的重要搖籃。校友會組織健全,與母校保持緊密連結,共同推動校務發展,並透過校友會凝聚力量支持在校學弟妹。

Historical Evolution

National Hualien Agricultural Senior High School was founded in April 1921 (the 10th year of the Republic of China) as “Hualien Port Street Simple Agricultural School” and was initially attached to Hualien Public School (today Mingli Elementary School). It began as a four-year program exclusively for Amis indigenous students. The school was renamed “Hualien Agricultural Supplementary School” in 1922, relocated in 1928 and again in 1933, and moved to its present site at 161 Jianguo Road, Hualien City in August 1942 under the name “Hualien Port Provincial Agricultural and Forestry School.” After Taiwan’s retrocession in 1945, it was reorganized as “Taiwan Provincial Hualien Agricultural Vocational School.” It was elevated to “Taiwan Provincial Hualien Senior Agricultural Vocational School” in 1970, and finally reorganized under the national education system as “National Hualien Agricultural Senior High School” in February 2000, becoming one of the most historically significant agricultural vocational institutions in eastern Taiwan.

Discipline System and Featured Departments

In response to social change, evolving trends, and industry needs, the school has developed a diversified curriculum structure spanning six academic clusters and nine departments plus one comprehensive functional program. The Agriculture cluster includes Farm Management, Forestry, Livestock Health and Husbandry, and Horticulture departments, continuing a century-old agricultural tradition. The Business cluster offers Data Processing, the Hospitality cluster provides Food and Beverage Management, the Food cluster includes Food Processing, the Civil Engineering cluster features Civil Engineering, and the Mechanical cluster provides Bio-Industrial Mechatronics. The school motto “Filial Piety, Fraternity, Diligence, and Farming” (Xiao Ti Li Tian) embodies traditional Chinese ethics and the spirit of agricultural perseverance. The school has consistently received excellent ratings in the Ministry of Education’s institutional evaluations and has been recognized as a high-quality vocational high school.
