协会概况
瑞典社会园丁协会（Sällskapet Trädgårdsamatörerna，简称 STA）成立于 1938 年，是瑞典全国性的观赏植物爱好者组织，由当时年仅 24 岁的 Arvid J Åhlin 在斯德哥尔摩发起。协会以「amateur」一词入名，意在面向所有热爱园艺的人士——不论是否有专业背景。八十余年来，STA 始终聚焦观赏植物、灌木与树木的栽培与交流，目前在瑞典全国设有 24 个地方分会（kretsar），会员从初学者到老资格园艺爱好者都有。
宗旨与价值基础
协会以「启发、知识与社群」三大价值为基础运作。STA 的核心兴趣是观赏植物及其栽培方法，鼓励会员尝试苗圃里不易买到的物种，涵盖稀有与挑战性的品种。从最初创立时起，会员中既有欣赏型的「唯美派」，也有专攻某属或某地域物种的「收藏派」，更不乏追求难栽培品种的「挑战派」。这种多元结构一直是 STA 群体文化的核心。
会刊《TrädgårdsAmatören》
《TrädgårdsAmatören》（简称 TA）是协会的会员刊物，一年发行四期，每期至少 48 页，内容涵盖植物、栽培、花园、园主访谈、游记、书评与各地分会动态。会员除收到纸质刊物外，还可通过 etidning.tradgardsamatorerna.se 阅读数字版，并回溯 25 年以来的所有期次。编辑部亦欢迎会员投稿——从简短的栽培笔记、报道到学术文章均可——但目前不支付稿酬。
种子交换与年度种单
STA 运营着瑞典最大的会员种子交换体系。每年夏秋两季，会员在自己的花园中采集种子并于秋季寄送至协会种子接收处；十一月末汇编成年度种子清单并对会员开放订购，至次年一月初截止。分配采用「依次轮选」机制，确保每位订购者都能获得自己首选的若干品种。短寿命种子单独冷藏保存，可能分两批寄出。清单对非会员仅作展示，仅会员可下单。
分会活动与公开日
协会的 24 个分会遍布瑞典南北，按地理划分，覆盖北部的 Hälsinge、Mittnorden、Ångermanland、Övre Norrland，西部的 Bohuslän-Dalsland、Göteborg、Halland、Skaraborg、Älvsborg，东部的 Gotland、Nynäshamn、Stockholm、Sörmland、Östgöta 等地区。各分会自行组织讲座、学习小组、植物市集、花园参访、考察旅行与「开放花园日」活动，是会员日常交流的主要场景。协会每年还举办全国代表大会（riksmöte）。
About the Society
Sällskapet Trädgårdsamatörerna (STA), the Swedish Society of Garden Amateurs, was founded in Stockholm in 1938 by Arvid J Åhlin, then 24 years old. The name deliberately includes the word amateur to welcome anyone with a love of gardening, regardless of formal training. More than eight decades on, STA remains a nationwide association devoted to ornamental plants, shrubs and trees, with 24 local circles (kretsar) across Sweden and members ranging from beginners to seasoned growers.
Aims and Values
STA is built on three values: inspiration, knowledge and community. Members are encouraged to grow plants that are unusual or hard to find, including rare and challenging species. From its earliest days the society has welcomed aesthetically minded growers, collectors who focus on a single genus or region, and members who enjoy the challenge of difficult-to-cultivate plants. This mix of approaches is at the heart of STA’s culture.
The Journal TrädgårdsAmatören
TrädgårdsAmatören (TA) is the society’s quarterly journal, with at least 48 pages per issue. It covers plants, cultivation, gardens, gardener profiles, travel pieces, book reviews and local-circle news. Members receive the printed copy and can also read the digital edition, which gives access to every issue going back 25 years. The editorial team welcomes submissions from members, from short cultivation notes and reports to academic articles, though no honorarium is paid.
Seed Exchange and Annual List
STA runs Sweden’s largest member seed exchange. Members collect seed in their own gardens over summer and autumn, then send it to the society’s seed-receiving station. An annual seed list is published at the end of November and stays open for orders until early January. Allocation is done round by round, so every member can receive several of their top choices. Short-lived seeds are stored in the refrigerator and may be sent as a second shipment. Only paid members can order.
Local Circles and Open Gardens
STA’s 24 local circles cover northern Sweden (Hälsinge, Mittnorden, Ångermanland, Övre Norrland), western Sweden (Bohuslän-Dalsland, Göteborg, Halland, Skaraborg, Älvsborg) and eastern Sweden (Gotland, Nynäshamn, Stockholm, Sörmland, Östgöta), among others. Each circle organises lectures, study circles, plant markets, garden visits, trips and open-garden days. The national association also holds a yearly general meeting (riksmöte).
