协会概况
南瑞典杜鹃花和木兰协会（Sydsvenska Rhododendron- och Magnoliasällskapet，简称 SyRMS）是在瑞典税局（Skatteverket）登记的全国性园艺兴趣团体，组织编号 846501-7526，注册地 Eslöv。协会以推广杜鹃花属（Rhododendron）和木兰属（Magnolia）的栽培知识为主要宗旨，并与能在类似生境中共生的其它观赏植物一同介绍。
与 ARS 的合作关系
SyRMS 是瑞典唯一一个加入美国杜鹃花学会（The American Rhododendron Society，ARS）的地方分会，对外正式名称为 THE SWEDISH CHAPTER of the AMERICAN RHODODENDRON SOCIETY。A 类会员同时享有 SyRMS 与 ARS 双方会员资格，并自 2026 年 1 月 1 日起获得 ARS Journal 的电子版或印刷+电子合订版，期刊支持瑞典语、挪威语、丹麦语、芬兰语等多种语言切换阅读。
会员、活动与讲座
协会提供 A、B、家庭与荣誉四种会员形式，2026 年 B 类年费 220 瑞典克朗，家庭附属成员另加 50 克朗，A 类另缴 ARS 会费约 350 或 465 克朗（按当日汇率折算）。日常活动多在 Lund 的 Ekologihuset 举行，部分场次通过 Zoom 直播；演讲嘉宾除瑞典本国外，亦邀请丹麦、德国、苏格兰等地的杜鹃花与木兰专家。年度行程包含会员开放日、私家花园与苗圃参访，间隔年组织出境考察。
会刊与文献体系
协会与瑞典杜鹃花学会（Svenska Rhododendronsällskapet，SRS）合作出版《Rhododendronbladet》季刊，一年四期，免费寄送 A、B 类会员。Faktablad 自办公开小册子已发行至第 8 号，主题涵盖种植与养护、可在瑞典栽培的原生种、营养繁殖、授粉与实生育苗、英瑞术语对照、病虫害识别以及面向爱好者的分类学入门，每册 12 至 92 页不等，售价 20 至 40 克朗。

Society Profile
The Sydsvenska Rhododendron- och Magnoliasällskapet (SyRMS) is a national horticultural interest society registered with the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) under organisation number 846501-7526, with its registered seat in Eslöv. Its purpose is to stimulate interest in, and deepen knowledge of, the genera Rhododendron and Magnolia, alongside companion plants that thrive in comparable cultivation conditions in southern Sweden.
Affiliation with the ARS
SyRMS is the only Swedish society affiliated with the American Rhododendron Society (ARS) and holds the official designation THE SWEDISH CHAPTER of the AMERICAN RHODODENDRON SOCIETY. Category A members hold dual membership in SyRMS and ARS and, from 1 January 2026, receive the ARS Journal in either digital or print+digital format, with the digital edition offering automatic translation into Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish and additional languages.
Membership and Activities
Four membership categories are offered: A, B, family and honorary. The 2026 B-category fee is SEK 220 with an additional SEK 50 per family affiliate, while category A carries an ARS component of approximately SEK 350 (digital) or SEK 465 (print+digital) at the prevailing exchange rate. Meetings are typically held at Ekologihuset in Lund with some sessions streamed over Zoom, and lecturers are drawn from Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Scotland and neighbouring countries. The annual calendar includes member open-garden days, visits to private gardens and nurseries, and overseas trips in selected years.
Publications and Library
Together with the Svenska Rhododendronsällskapet (SRS), the society co-publishes Rhododendronbladet, a quarterly mailed free of charge to A and B members. The society’s own Faktablad pamphlet series has reached booklet No. 8, covering planting and care, wild species hardy in Sweden, vegetative propagation, pollination and seed raising, an English-Swedish glossary, pest and disease diagnosis, and an amateur-oriented introduction to taxonomy; individual booklets run from 12 to 92 pages and are priced between SEK 20 and SEK 40.

The current chair is Henrik Åström, with Lars-Johan Malmgren as vice-chair, Eva Myllenberg as secretary and Lennart Karlsson as treasurer; additional roles cover the library, webmaster, travel, editorial committee, seed curator, auditor and nomination committee.
