The Heritage Rose Foundation

它跟英国老玫瑰组织(如 The Conservation Committee of Heritage Roses in Australia、UK Heritage Roses Group 等)有交流但不重叠,可作为英语圈的传统玫瑰保育坐标之一。

About the Foundation

The Heritage Rose Foundation (HRF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 1986 and devoted to research, preservation and education around heritage roses. The Foundation is registered in Tyler, Texas, and operates as a national network supporting preservation gardens, public rose collections and the study of nineteenth-century and historically significant cultivars.

Research and Library

The Foundation’s research mandate covers six strands: history and identification, genetics and breeding, propagation, diseases and pests, suitability for landscape use, and public education. The Foundation also maintains a specialised library of books, periodicals, research papers, manuscripts, catalogues and historical images, with portions made available online through successive digitisation rounds.

Digitisation and Membership

Three digitally re-mastered books were released with funding from the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation, complementing the long-running newsletter and other publications. Membership tiers include Senior and Student memberships at $25 per year, Individual or Family at $35 per year, and Organization at $45 per year. All members receive the newsletter; organisation tiers typically include multiple individual subscriptions.

Industry Collaboration

The Foundation collaborates with allied organisations such as the American Rose Society, regional rose societies and various heritage garden projects across the United States, often serving as a sponsor, adviser or co-organiser for identification workshops and planting demonstrations. The library and online resources also serve as an entry point for international researchers and amateur rosarians interested in heritage cultivars.

How to contact the Foundation

Membership enquiries, donation enquiries and research collaborations can be addressed through the Foundation’s website contact form. The Heritage Rose Foundation is based in Tyler, Texas, United States.
