协会沿革与定位

法国鸢尾和球茎植物协会 (Société Française des Iris et plantes Bulbeuses, 缩写 S.F.I.B.) 是依据 1901 年法国社团法成立的园艺类非营利组织, 由 Gladys Clarke 女士于 1959 年创立, 自创立起便由志愿者推动运作。协会总部设在法国西南部的 LAYMONT (32220 省), 同时隶属于法国国家园艺协会 (Société Nationale d’Horticulture de France, 简称 SNHF), 在法国园艺植物保育与推广体系中承担鸢尾科、萱草和球根植物方面的协调角色。

宗旨与核心活动

协会的三大宗旨是: 向更广泛的公众介绍鸢尾、鸢尾科、萱草及各类观赏球根植物并促进其传播; 参与园艺遗产保护, 协助收集和保留老品种、便利稀有品种的流通; 面向公众尤其是年轻人普及园艺遗产保护意识。在日常工作中, 协会通过会刊、官方网站、论坛等多种媒介持续发布信息和栽培建议, 同时为会员提供跨国联合采购、种子及种苗互换、杂交育种小组组建、花园参观和园艺集市交流等服务。

期刊《Iris et Bulbeuses》

协会每年出版一册《Iris et Bulbeuses》植物与园艺期刊, 接受所有会员投稿, 围绕鸢尾和球根植物的新动向、栽培与维护技巧、花园营造经验展开。期刊之外还定期发布《Lettre d’Information》信息通讯, 优先以电邮方式寄送, 同时放在网站会员专区供查阅, 旧刊也可向协会秘书处订购。

种子交换与会员服务

协会的种子库常年保有 600 余种 (含若干稀有物种) 种子, 由会员捐赠充实, 再向会员重新分发, 同时通过年度大会、园艺节和会员互访活动, 鼓励会员之间交换根茎和种球。会员还可享受在多家法国专业苗圃的购物折扣、订阅法国国家园艺协会《Jardins de France》期刊的优惠价、参加法国境内各园艺节 (如圣让-德-博雷加尔、库尔松) 的会员价入场等多重福利。

FRANCIRIS® 国际鸢尾竞赛

FRANCIRIS® 是协会自 2000 年起举办的国际鸢尾竞赛的注册名称, 模仿 1957 年起在意大利佛罗伦萨举办的同类竞赛。最初设想源自 1996 年时任会长 Charles Guy Bouquet 的倡议, 后由现任名誉会长 Sylvain Ruaud 在 1997 年 5 月 24 日奥尔良 Source 公园举行的全体大会上正式提议, 作为迎接新千年的鸢尾主题活动立项。该竞赛最初只面向法国鸢尾, 后扩展为面向全球杂交育种者的国际赛事, 同时承担起为法国重建其国际鸢尾育种地位的角色。

Founding and Affiliation

The Société Française des Iris et plantes Bulbeuses (S.F.I.B.) is a French non-profit association governed by the 1901 law on associations, founded in 1959 by Gladys Clarke and run by volunteers ever since. Its registered office is in LAYMONT (postal code 32220) in southwestern France, and it operates under the umbrella of the Société Nationale d’Horticulture de France (SNHF), the national horticultural society of France.

Aims and Core Activities

The association pursues three guiding aims: introducing irises, iridaceae, daylilies (hémérocalles) and a wide range of ornamental bulbous plants to a broad audience and fostering their diffusion; contributing to heritage conservation by helping collect and preserve old cultivars and easing the circulation of rare ones; and raising public awareness, particularly among younger people, of the value of horticultural heritage. Day-to-day, the association publishes advice through its journal, website and forum, and offers members group purchases abroad, seed and rhizome exchanges, support for hybridizing circles, garden visits and meetings at plant fairs.

The Journal “Iris et Bulbeuses”

The association publishes one issue per year of its botanical and horticultural journal Iris et Bulbeuses, which is open to contributions from any member and covers new developments in irises and bulbous plants, cultivation and maintenance techniques, and garden-making practice. A complementary Lettre d’Information newsletter is distributed primarily by e-mail and is also archived in the members’ area of the website, while back issues of the journal can be ordered through the secretariat.

Seed Exchange and Membership Benefits

The association maintains a seed bank of more than 600 species, including several rare taxa, replenished by member donations and redistributed to members. Members also exchange rhizomes and bulbs at the annual general meeting, plant fairs and organised visits. Membership further brings purchasing discounts at several French specialist nurseries, a reduced subscription to the SNHF journal Jardins de France, and reduced admission to major French horticultural events such as Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard and Courson.

FRANCIRIS® International Iris Competition

FRANCIRIS® is the registered name of the international iris competition the association has organised since 2000, modelled on the long-running competition held in Florence since 1957. The idea was first raised in 1996 by then-president Charles Guy Bouquet as a way of revitalising the association, and was formally proposed by current honorary president Sylvain Ruaud at the general assembly held on 24 May 1997 at the Parc de la Source in Orléans, with the intent of marking the turn of the century with a French iris event. Originally limited to French irises, the contest eventually broadened into an international competition open to hybridisers worldwide, while also contributing to restoring France’s place in the international iris world.
