美国鸢尾协会（American Iris Society，简称AIS）成立于1927年2月2日，是美国宾夕法尼亚州费城县 incorporated 的非营利机构，享有501(c)(3)税务豁免资质。AIS是全球鸢尾品种的官方注册机构，负责全球鸢尾品种的注册与引入管理工作，每年出版《Registrations and Introductions》登记引入手册。AIS还维护着包含60000多个鸢尾品种的在线鸢尾百科全书（Iris Encyclopedia），为全球鸢尾爱好者和研究者提供权威的品种信息查询服务。

The American Iris Society (AIS) is a nonprofit institution incorporated on February 2, 1927, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, AIS serves as the official world registry for iris cultivars, managing global iris registration and introduction. The society publishes annual Registrations and Introductions booklets and maintains an online Iris Encyclopedia with over 60,000 iris cultivar entries.

Organizational Structure and Membership

AIS is organized into 22 geographic regions, each with a Regional Vice President and affiliated member clubs. Members receive the booklet “Basic Iris Culture” upon joining and subscribe to “IRISES,” a quarterly publication offering approximately 65 pages of iris culture information, color photographs, and commercial iris grower directories. The AIS Foundation, established in 1971, provides research grants.

Core Resources and Activities

Beyond the Iris Encyclopedia, AIS operates the official cultivar registration system, approving and certifying new iris introductions.
