协会起源与早期发展
SAJA 是法国高山花园业余爱好者协会的法语缩写, 全称是 Société des Amateurs de Jardins Alpins, 1952 年由一群植物学家在巴黎创立。协会的初衷是把高山花园营造技艺和山地植物栽培知识传播给园艺爱好者, 同时推动人们走进自然、参与自然保护。七十多年来, 协会一直保持非营利的学术团体定位, 在欧洲高山园艺领域积累了深厚的声誉。
季刊与学术出版
会员每季度会收到协会刊物《山地植物与岩生植物》, 内容涵盖植物分类、野外采集记录、引种栽培笔记、海外见闻以及协会内部公告。协会另设协会期刊, 已出版 290 余期, 1952 至 2003、2000 至 2017、2018 至 2025 三段总索引在协会网站上对外公开, 老文章和分类目录常年开放给会员和公众检索。
五大活动板块
协会围绕高山植物组织五类日常活动: 巴黎月度讲座、年度国内外花园参观与旅行、种苗集市(每年春天在巴黎植物园举办)、植物园村活动, 以及与巴黎自然博物馆合作的植物学实地考察。讲座场地曾位于巴黎五区协会之家, 后迁至巴黎十二区新址, 月度内容涵盖植物学、园艺史、欧洲及亚洲高山植物群落等专题。
地方分会与会员结构
协会下设巴黎总会和多个省级分会, 近年新成立诺曼底分会, 加上原有的巴黎与外省分会, 形成覆盖法国本土的会员网络。新会员可享受老会员带领的入门辅导, 老文章档案和活动回顾也通过协会网站分门别类整理, 方便查阅。会员既是刊物和讲座的受众, 也是种苗集市种子交换和花园参观活动的参与主体。
捐款与公众参与
协会常年接受公众小额捐款, 用于场地租赁、讲座嘉宾差旅、季刊印制与寄发, 以及对自然保护项目的支持。协会另设捐款页面, 与联系秘书处页面并行, 公众可以通过这两种方式与秘书处建立联系, 索取入会表格或报名下一期种苗集市。网站同时公布年度种子索引目录, 面向会员开展种子交换传统。
Association Origins and Early Development
SAJA, short for Société des Amateurs de Jardins Alpins (French Alpine Garden Amateur Society), was founded in 1952 in Paris by a group of botanists who wanted to share alpine horticulture techniques and the cultivation of mountain plants with fellow enthusiasts, while also encouraging contact with nature and participation in its protection. For more than seventy years the association has kept its non-profit academic position and built a strong reputation in European alpine gardening circles.
Quarterly Magazine and Academic Publishing
Members receive the quarterly review « Plantes de Montagne et de Rocaille », which covers plant taxonomy, field collection notes, introduction and cultivation records, overseas observations, and internal announcements. The association also publishes a Bulletin series with more than 290 issues, and the cumulative indexes for 1952–2003, 2000–2017, and 2018–2025 are made available on the official website, so that old articles and classified catalogues remain open to both members and the general public.
Five Activity Branches
The association organises five everyday activity streams around alpine plants: monthly Paris lectures (Conférences), annual garden visits and trips at home and abroad (Voyages), the Foire aux Plantules seedling fair held every spring at the Jardin Botanique de Paris (Parc Floral), the Village Botanique event, and botanical field sessions in partnership with the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle. The lecture venue used to be in the Maison des Associations in the 5th arrondissement of Paris before moving to a new location in the 12th arrondissement, and monthly topics range from botany and horticultural history to alpine plant communities in Europe and Asia.
Local Sections and Member Structure
The association runs the Paris head section together with several provincial sections, including the newly created Normandie section and the historic Paris and Province sections, building a member network across metropolitan France. Newcomers are welcomed through a mentoring programme led by senior members, and the official website keeps an organised archive of past articles and activity reports for easy reference. Members are not only readers of the magazine and audience of the lectures, but also the main participants of the seedling fairs, seed exchanges, and garden visits.
Donations and Public Engagement
The association accepts small public donations year round to cover venue hire, lecturer travel, quarterly printing and mailing, and contributions to nature protection initiatives. A dedicated Faire un don page runs alongside the Contactez-nous page so that the public can reach the secretariat, request a membership form, or sign up for the next seedling fair. The official website also publishes the annual Index Seminum seed list, which continues the long-standing tradition of seed exchange among members.
