Fiskars Group, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is one of the oldest companies in the country and a global home of design-driven brands for indoor and outdoor living. Since being founded as an ironworks in 1649, the group has grown into a Nasdaq Helsinki-listed company (ticker FSKRS) operating in approximately 29 countries with its brands present in more than 100 markets worldwide. In 2025, the group reported net sales of EUR 1,140.2 million.
From ironworks to design-driven group
The company was established in 1649 by Peter Thorwöste, who was granted the privilege of setting up a blast furnace and bar hammer at Fiskars, Finland. Over the centuries it evolved from a forge into a cutlery, scissors and tool maker; the limited company Fiskars was founded in 1915 and listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange the same year. In 1967 Fiskars launched the iconic orange-handled scissors, of which more than one billion have been sold globally. The group marked its 375th anniversary throughout 2024.
Two business areas and brand portfolio
Fiskars Group operates through two business areas. Business Area Fiskars covers the gardening, cooking, creating and scissors categories with the Fiskars and Gerber (founded 1939) brands. Business Area Vita brings together the high-end homeware and branded jewelry brands Georg Jensen, Royal Copenhagen, Wedgwood, Iittala, Waterford, Moomin Arabia, Arabia, Hackman, Rörstrand, Rogaška, Royal Albert and Royal Doulton. In 2025, BA Vita generated net sales of EUR 613 million, while BA Fiskars delivered EUR 522 million.
Global presence, growth strategy and sustainability
As of December 31, 2025, the group employed approximately 6,594 people in 29 countries and operated close to 450 stores. The Growth Strategy 2021-2025 emphasized commercial excellence, direct-to-consumer, the U.S. and China, lifting the comparable gross margin to 47.1% and raising the direct-to-consumer share of sales from 18% to 30%. The group is preparing the next phase of its strategy and new financial targets at the Capital Markets Day scheduled for May 12, 2026. It is committed to having a majority of net sales come from circular products and services by 2030, cutting Scope 1+2 greenhouse gas emissions by 60% from a 2017 baseline, and reducing Scope 3 transportation and distribution emissions by 30% from a 2018 baseline.
