GARDENA was founded in 1961 in Ulm, Germany, by salesmen Werner Kress and Eberhard Kastner, initially importing garden tools from France. The breakthrough came in 1968 with the launch of the Original GARDENA System, whose click-together tap connectors, hose connectors and watering accessories defined a new standard of convenience. Over the following decades the company extended this systems approach with the GARDENA combisystem (1977), the GARDENA accu-system V12, the GARDENA Sprinklersystem and the GARDENA Micro-Drip-System (both 1990), growing into one of Europe’s leading brands for high-quality garden tools. Since 2007 GARDENA has operated as a separate division of the Swedish Husqvarna Group and its products are available in more than 100 countries worldwide.
