同一站点也以 schilfpflanzen.de 对外开放,内容完全一致。

The Site and Its Two Partner Nurseries

repo-pflanzen.de is a supply site run jointly by two German perennial nurseries, and the site names its own role plainly: it supplies reposition plants. One is Stauden Junge in Hameln, run by Matthias Großmann, a perennial nursery since 1896 that moved out to the edge of town in 1970. The other is the Petrowsky nursery, founded by Jörg Petrowsky in 1985 and set in the southern Lüneburg Heath, where it specialises in marsh plants, water plants and water lilies. Both quantities are handled: settling tanks at private houses need only small amounts, while municipal works such as the final clarification stage of a sewage treatment plant take large deliveries. Re-cultivating and renaturing wet habitats is the work that sets the two nurseries apart from ordinary ornamental nurseries. The same site is also served at schilfpflanzen.de, with identical content.

What Reposition Plants Are

In German, Repositionspflanzen are the perennials and woody plants used for recultivation and renaturation, and the word comes from the Latin reponere, to put in place again, to restore. These are wild perennials native to Central Europe that grow in open country under natural conditions, and they have not been altered by crossing or by selection. The site treats plant quality as the decisive factor: open planting has to cope with soil, water level, planting date and how much care is possible afterwards, so a delivery that does not match the site shows up directly in the survival rate. Keeping quality steady from one batch to the next is the hardest part of this kind of supply.

Reed and Its Use in Water Treatment

Phragmites australis, the common reed, is the plant this site is built around, and it has a page of its own. It takes hold anywhere from a bank that dries out periodically down to a metre of water depth, tolerates swings in nutrients, pH and salt, and suits the first colonisation of wet raw soils. It grows to three metres and spreads by rhizome and by seed, while the subspecies pseudodonax is more vigorous still and reaches seven to ten metres. Reed stems have long been a building material, used for insulation and as screening, and as fuel they carry 6000 kilocalories per kilogram, twice the figure for lignite. The Baltic coast, Hungary, Poland, Austria and Ukraine all have a tradition of harvesting it, a hectare can yield seventeen tonnes, and mowing holds back the sludge that builds up. In a planted treatment plant reed takes up eighty to ninety per cent of the planting, the balance being made up of bulrush, yellow iris, rush and sedge.

The Plant List and How Supply Works

The plant table lists 57 species, each marked for its leading role, oxygen contribution, cleansing effect, nature conservation value, securing function, suitable water depth and height, covering plants such as sweet flag, water mint, yellow iris, sedge, water lily, spike rush and bulrush. Two aspects of supply are worth noting. There is always stock of reposition plants in 8 and 9 cm pots, ready to go out at short notice. And for larger projects the nurseries work to contract, growing to order around the planting date rather than from stock, with the volume of the root balls and the growing substrate settled separately in advance.

Quality Standards and the List of Uses

On quality, both nurseries carry out voluntary checks against the German DIN standard for perennial quality, and both say so in their own introductions. Both are also members of the ZVG gardening federation, the BdS association of German perennial growers and the ISU international perennial union. The list of uses is equally concrete: reposition plants for planted sewage treatment plants, for final clarification after conventional treatment, for sewage sludge composting, for the infiltration of rain and surface water, for water recycling through plant filters in closed systems, for natural swimming ponds, for infiltration basins and for bank protection, and for bringing plant cover back to gravel pits, streams, still waters, open-cast mines and spoil heaps. The site also offers product descriptions and specification texts for tender documents, in reed bundles of 5 cm and of 8/9 cm, ready for use.

The two nurseries behind the site are Stauden Junge, a perennial nursery in Hameln, and the Petrowsky nursery for marsh and water plants in Eschede, whose own site is seerosensorten.de.
