## History

Founded in 1971 on a humble piece of land along Dogfish Creek in Poulsbo, Washington, Valley Nursery has grown over more than fifty years into one of the most complete independent nurseries in the Pacific Northwest, serving home gardeners across Kitsap County and the surrounding region.

## Scale

Spanning six acres, the nursery carries perennials, annuals, fruit trees, conifers, vegetable starts, and hard-to-find specialty plants whose selection is unmatched in the region. There is always something new to discover no matter the season.

## Expert Staff

The team includes Certified Professional Horticulturists who genuinely love plants and love helping customers succeed with them. They give straight answers about what will actually thrive in a customer’s yard rather than simply what looks good on the shelf.

## Community & Service

Family owned and operated for decades with deep roots in the Poulsbo community, Valley Nursery is not a big box store but a neighbor that takes service seriously. The Answer Shack counter and email consultation help customers troubleshoot plant problems and plan their gardens with confidence.

Gift cards are available in store or by phone for the gardener in life. The nursery also runs the Sam Says blog, publishing monthly horticultural advice tuned to the Puget Sound climate and covering composting, cover crops, fruit tree care, and seasonal local gardening topics.
