Company Overview
Dragon Agro Products is a small family-run plant retail and wholesale business based in Kendall Park, New Jersey, founded in 1994 by partners Perla and Tito. Perla was originally a chemical engineer at Mobil Oil Technical Service; when the company relocated three hours away, she decided to channel her lifelong passion for orchids, bonsais, and unusual plants into a new venture. Tito grew up around carnivorous plants, orchids, and exotic animals, and the two have run the business together for more than 30 years, mailing orders from their base in New Jersey.
Plant Catalog
The company specializes in importing, growing, and selling aroids, carnivorous plants, orchids, and other unusual plants, and has built an extensive domestic and overseas supplier network. Perla has personally collected orchids for over 20 years and has traveled to about 50 countries; many of the vendors she originally bought from are now customers of hers. The retail catalog is organized into four main divisions. The aroids section covers Alocasia, Colocasia, Philodendron, Xanthosoma, Anthurium, Amorphophallus, and Arisaema. The carnivorous plants section includes Drosera (sundews), Nepenthes (tropical pitcher plants), Sarracenia (North American pitcher plants), and Venus Fly Traps. Ordering and Shipping Policy
Domestic retail orders (NJ residents only) require a US$50 minimum, out-of-state U.S. orders are wholesale-only with a US$1,000 minimum, and foreign orders also carry a US$1,000 minimum. Plants are typically shipped bare-root on Mondays or Tuesdays within two weeks of order receipt, with a 3-day inspection window; supplies may be returned within 7 days subject to a 20% restocking fee. Phytosanitary certificates for states such as California, Florida, Hawaii, and several others are billed to the customer.
