花园青蛙公司（Gartenfrosch GmbH）是一家位于巴伐利亚州埃格林（Egling an der Paar）的家族式木工坊，地处慕尼黑以西约五十公里的小镇，专门用手工方式制作花园高架木花床与种植容器。创办人 Gernot Kosok-Pokorny 原是计算机与摄影科班出身，最初只是为妻子搭建一座自家用的高架木花床，左邻右舍羡慕的目光让他把木工爱好做成了正式事业，从此专心开发以本地落叶松为原料的园艺木制品，旺季时坊内有八名左右的工匠一起协作。

木材与工艺

整间作坊几乎只用德国本土出产的落叶松，这种木材本身就具备抗腐耐候的特性，户外使用无需化学药剂处理，时间越久越显温润。每一件花床都在自家庭院里先试种再交付，对结构稳定性、接缝严密度与外观细节都格外挑剔。店家对自家木质花床提供十二年保护承诺，定期以天然亚麻油养护还能让木色保持得更久；和金属、石头花床相比，落叶松花床更轻、更有自然气息，也更容易适配不规则的花园或露台。

About the Company

Gartenfrosch GmbH is a small family woodworking shop in Egling an der Paar, a town about fifty kilometres west of Munich in Bavaria, southern Germany. The workshop focuses on handcrafted raised garden beds and planting containers made from solid timber. Its founder, Gernot Kosok-Pokorny, originally trained in IT and photography; he first built a raised bed for his wife, and the admiring reactions from neighbours and gardening friends slowly turned the hobby into a business. In the high season, around eight craftspeople work together in the workshop.

Origin of the Name

“Gartenfrosch” means “garden frog” in German. The brand sees a raised bed as a miniature enclosed garden where snails and voles stay out, aphids and weeds are easier to manage, and home-grown vegetables can thrive. After the first bed came a transparent cover, then a small greenhouse attachment, and over more than fifteen years of focusing on wooden raised beds the workshop has refined its joinery into a small but well-known Bavarian speciality.

Main Products

The shop’s most popular pieces are raised beds in larch wood, available in standard, balcony and early-spring cover versions in many sizes. The full range also includes a small tomato greenhouse, planting boxes in several dimensions, the “Tomaten-Tram” planter with greenhouse cover, wooden composters, a worm box, the Biolokus composting dry toilet, wind and privacy screens, bird and insect houses, garden decoration and forged garden tools. Everything in the catalogue stays close to two themes: wood and the garden.

Wood and Craftsmanship

The workshop uses almost exclusively domestic German larch, a timber that weathers naturally outdoors and needs no chemical treatment. Every bed is first grown in at the founder’s own garden, which gives the team direct feedback on stability, fit and finish before any product is shipped. The brand offers a twelve-year protection promise on its wooden raised beds, and an occasional treatment with natural linseed oil keeps the wood looking fresh for even longer. Compared with metal or stone raised beds, larch is lighter, more flexible and visually softer in a garden setting.
