历史沿革与学科地位
同济大学建筑与城市规划学院景观学系是国内最早创办风景园林学科的院系之一。1952 年,在建筑学与风景园林学专家冯纪忠、陈从周等前辈的倡导下,同济大学开始风景园林学科建设。1960 年率先在建筑系城市规划专业中开设园林绿化本科专门化方向,1979 年正式创办中国第一个风景园林本科专业,1981 年起招收硕士生,1986 年起招收博士生。1993 年成立风景科学与旅游系,2005 年获独立的景观规划设计专业硕士、博士学位授予权并改系名为景观学系,2011 年风景园林成为工学一级学科。本系现与同济大学建筑学、城乡规划学共同组成学院的三位一体学科架构,在 2017 年教育部学位中心学科评估中获评 A-。
学科架构与专业方向
本系现设历史理论与遗产保护、大地景观规划与生态修复、景观与园林设计、数字景观与工程技术、植物与应用、国家公园与健康景观六大学科方向,由韩锋、王云才、章明、金云峰与刘颂、张德顺、吴承照等教授分别牵头。本科专业学制四年,授予工学学士学位,核心课程覆盖风景园林规划与设计、风景园林历史理论与资源保护、风景园林工程与技术三大主干。硕士研究生学制 2.5 年,博士研究生学制 3 年,均设风景园林历史与理论、景观规划与生态修复、园林与景观设计、风景园林遗产保护、风景园林植物应用、风景园林技术科学等研究方向,博士另设环境艺术设计方向。
师资队伍与人才培养
本系专职教师 30 人,28 人获博士学位,其中正教授 10 人、副教授 14 人,国外一流大学博士学位 9 人,有海外长期经历的 18 人,博导含兼职共 23 人,涵盖工、林、农、理、管理、艺术等多学科背景。学科带头人吴志强教授当选中国工程院院士。本系教学获国家首批双万建设专业认定,与近 10 所世界一流院校建立合作,持续推进 5 个国际双学位项目,共享 90 门英文平台课程,学生获创新创业奖 66 项。
科学研究与国际合作
本系自 1986 年起承担国家自然科学基金工材类风景园林界首批青年、面上、重点及科技部重点项目,目前在研及完成国家自然科学基金青年项目 13 项、面上项目 24 项、重点项目 2 项,国家社科基金面上及重点项目各 1 项,科技部重点支撑计划项目 2 项。在景观风景园林感应与美学评价、风景园林小气候、数字景观遗产、景观生态规划、现代景观科学技术方法等方向处于国际领先地位。已与近 10 所世界一流院校开展长期合作,5 个国际双学位项目持续推进。
社会服务与行业贡献
本系教师承担国家公园和文化景观保护实践,牵头成立中国风景园林学会文化景观专业委员会,在国内外创立生态实践学学派,并在社区层面创建社区花园、景观治理全国性品牌。规划设计项目获英国皇家杰出规划奖、巴塞罗那国际景观双年展罗莎·芭芭拉国际景观奖、全国优秀城乡规划设计奖、上海市勘察设计奖等多项国际、国家级与省部级奖项。本系长期参与风景名胜区体系保护与可持续发展规划,为风景园林成为工学一级学科发挥了关键作用。
Historical Evolution and Disciplinary Standing
The Department of Landscape Architecture at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University is one of the earliest departments in China to develop the discipline of landscape architecture. In 1952, under the advocacy of Prof. Feng Jizhong and Prof. Chen Congzhou, Tongji University began building the discipline. The Department opened the first undergraduate specialization in landscape and greenery within the urban planning programme in 1960, established China’s first undergraduate programme in landscape architecture in 1979, admitted master students from 1981 and doctoral students from 1986. The Department was reorganized as the Department of Landscape Science and Tourism in 1993, gained independent master and doctoral degree-granting authority in 2005 and was renamed the Department of Landscape Architecture, coinciding with the elevation of landscape architecture to a national first-level discipline (engineering) in 2011. In the 2017 Ministry of Education Discipline Evaluation, the discipline received an A- rating.
Disciplinary Structure and Programme Areas
The Department is organized into six research clusters: Historical Theory and Heritage Conservation, Regional Landscape Planning and Ecological Restoration, Landscape and Garden Design, Digital Landscape and Engineering Technology, Plants and Application, and National Parks and Healthy Landscape, each led by senior faculty. The undergraduate programme is four years long and awards the Bachelor of Engineering degree. Core coursework covers landscape architecture planning and design, historical theory and resource conservation, and landscape engineering and technology. The master’s programme is 2.5 years and the doctoral programme 3 years; both offer research directions in landscape history and theory, landscape planning and ecological restoration, garden and landscape design, heritage conservation, plant application, and technical sciences, with environmental art design added for the doctoral programme.
Faculty and Student Development
The Department has 30 full-time faculty members, 28 of whom hold doctoral degrees; among them are 10 full professors and 14 associate professors. Nine faculty members hold doctoral degrees from leading overseas universities, and 18 have long-term international experience. The Department has 23 doctoral supervisors including adjunct appointments and draws on engineering, forestry, agriculture, science, management and art disciplines. Prof. Wu Zhiqiang was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The undergraduate programme is included in the national Double Ten Thousand Plan. The Department cooperates with nearly ten leading universities worldwide, runs five international dual-degree programmes and shares ninety English-language platform courses. Students have received 66 innovation and entrepreneurship awards.
Research and International Cooperation
Since 1986 the Department has hosted the first youth, general and key National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects in the landscape architecture panel under engineering and materials sciences. Ongoing and completed projects include 13 NSFC youth grants, 24 general grants, two key grants, one general and one key National Social Science Fund grant, and two Ministry of Science and Technology key programmes. The Department is internationally recognized in landscape perception and aesthetic evaluation, landscape microclimate, digital landscape heritage, landscape ecological planning and modern landscape science and technology. Long-term cooperation is maintained with nearly ten world-leading universities, and five international dual-degree programmes are in progress.
Social Service and Industry Contribution
Faculty members have played leading roles in national park and cultural landscape conservation and in establishing the Cultural Landscape Committee of the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture. The Department has founded the School of Ecological Practice domestically and internationally, and developed the Community Garden and Landscape Governance brands at the national level. Design projects have received the Royal Town Planning Institute Award, the Rosa Barbara International Landscape Award at the Barcelona International Landscape Biennial, the National Excellent Urban and Rural Planning Design Award and the Shanghai Survey and Design Award. The Department has long contributed to the conservation of scenic areas and the elevation of landscape architecture to a national first-level discipline in engineering.
