年度活动与社区参与

History and Roots
RosenPark Dräger is located in Steinfurth, a village of Bad Nauheim in the Wetteraukreis district of Hessen, Germany. Steinfurth has been the cradle of the German rose industry since 1868, when Germany’s first dedicated Rosenschule (rose nursery school) was established here, laying the foundation for the international reputation the village still enjoys today. The company itself grew out of the local long-standing rose business Rosen Gönewein and was renamed after Manuela Dräger took over the family enterprise. It now operates as a GmbH & Co. KG, registered at the Amtsgericht Friedberg under HRA 4195, with VAT ID DE 295121769.
Display Gardens and Rose Collection
The site maintains ten thematically distinct show gardens (Themengärten) where more than 800 rose varieties (Rosensorten) are on display year-round. The range covers Edelrosen (hybrid tea roses), Beetrosen (floribunda), Strauchrosen (shrub roses), Kletterrosen (climbers), Bodendecker (ground cover), Historische Rosen (heritage varieties), Park-, Moos- and Wildrosen (park, moss and species roses), Duftrosen (fragrant), ADR-tested varieties and David Austin’s English Roses. The nursery is especially known for its Stammrosen (standard or tree roses), offered in four height classes — Zwergstamm (40–50 cm), Halbstamm (60–70 cm), Hochstamm (≈90 cm) and Kaskadenstamm (120–140 cm) — each grafted onto a wild-rose rootstock and requiring roughly four years from grafting to sale-ready plant. The World Federation of Rose Societies’ 2014 directory lists the garden as holding about 10,000 plants across 350 varieties, marking it as one of Europe’s significant rose germplasm collections.
Nursery, Sales and Delivery
On the production side the company grows Topfrosen (container roses) on its own fields and in greenhouses for year-round planting, and offers Wurzelnackte Rosen (bare-root roses) from October through April — lifted fresh from the field, cold-stored and shipped on order. Annual Events and Community
The Steinfurther Rosenfest, held in July every other year, is the village’s signature celebration. The most recent edition, 10–12 July 2026, featured a Rosenausstellung (rose exhibition), a Rosentaufe (baptism of the new cultivar For the Love of Roses), the Rosenringverleihung rose-ring award ceremony and the traditional Rosenkorso flower-parade climax, with the float of the reigning Steinfurther Rosenkönigin (Rose Queen) drawing the largest applause. Another tradition running for decades is the Steinfurther Rosenkönigin herself, who serves as ambassador of the rose village at public events throughout the year. In June 2026, the Goldene Rose von Baden-Baden award was won by Jannik Dräger of the nursery for a Steinfurth-bred cultivar. The nursery also cooperates with Bad Nauheim’s tourist office, which runs shuttle buses and walking-route signage during the open season to bring visitors into the Steinfurth rose fields.
Beyond the Plants
Apart from rose plants the shop offers a Rosige Accessoires line of rose-themed goods: Delikatessen (rose syrup, vinegar, tea, liqueur and chocolate for cooking), Körperpflege and Handpflege (hand wash, soap), Rosendüfte (perfumes), Rosenkerzen (candles), Rosenporzellan (porcelain) and Rosenbücher (books on roses).
