西北倒挂金钟协会 Northwest Fuchsia Society (NWFS) 1983 年在美国华盛顿州西雅图成立，活动覆盖华盛顿州、俄勒冈州以及北加州 Del Norte 县，是面向倒挂金钟属 Fuchsia 的区域性专类园艺学术团体；协会总部邮政信箱设在美国西雅图都会区，并在华盛顿州 Lake Wilderness 树木园 (Maple Valley) 设有 NWFS Hardy Fuchsia Garden 作为耐寒品种户外试验与展示场地。

每年春季协会组织各分会开展苗圃展销，2026 年排期的春季活动包括 Eastside Fuchsia Society Sale (5 月 2 日，Bellevue 植物园 Aaron 教育中心)、Fuchsia Fanciers Spring Sale (5 月 2 日，Centralia Outlet Mall)、Peninsula Fuchsia Society Sale (5 月 2–3 日，Silverdale Clear Creek 社区中心)、LakeBay Fuchsia Society Sale (5 月 9 日，Key Peninsula Civic Center)、Oregon Fuchsia Society Sale (5 月 16 日，波特兰 Western Seminary 停车场) 以及 Lake Wilderness Arboretum 春季苗圃展销 (4 月 24–25 日，Maple Valley)；Bellevue 植物园和 Lake Wilderness 树木园是协会春季活动的两大固定场地。
夏季评审展与秋季 NWFS Judged Show & Sale
夏末秋初是协会的评审展季节，各分会对会员栽培的倒挂金钟进行品种鉴定和展览评选：Eastside Fuchsia Society Judged Show & Sale 8 月 15 日在 Bellevue 植物园举行，Oregon Fuchsia Society Judged Show 8 月 21–23 日在波特兰 Portland Nursery 举行，旗舰活动 NWFS Judged Show & Sale 9 月 12 日在 Lake Wilderness Arboretum 举办并对全体 NWFS 会员开放，同期 Arboretum 秋季苗圃展销也在同场地举行，访客可在评审展与苗圃展销之间一并选购耐寒品种和伴生花卉。
Flash 季刊、Hardy Fuchsia List 与十一个地方分会
协会每季度出版《Flash》电子季刊，刊载会员栽培经验、新品种介绍、分会活动报道与评审展获奖名单，2024 年 7 月的在线版已在该协会网络门户发布；协会网络门户另维护 Hardy Fuchsia List 耐寒品种名录 (最新版本新增 10 个粉红色花色的耐寒品种) 以及 Heat Tolerant Fuchsias 耐热品种、Fuchsia Species 原种、Pests and Diseases 病虫害防治、Container Fuchsias 盆栽专类与 Fuchsia Books 书目等专题页面，会员可选择就近加入 11 个地方分会 (Eastside / Fuchsia Fanciers / Peninsula / LakeBay / Oregon / Pilchuck / Sno-King / Olympia / Puyallup Valley / Crescent City 等) 或注册为 Member-At-Large 远程会员。
Established 1983: A Regional Society for the Genus Fuchsia
The Northwest Fuchsia Society (NWFS) was established in 1983 in Seattle, Washington, and operates as a regional academic society devoted to the genus Fuchsia, with active branches across Washington State, Oregon, and northern California’s Del Norte County; the Society’s mailing address is located in the greater Seattle area, and it maintains the NWFS Hardy Fuchsia Garden at Lake Wilderness Arboretum (Maple Valley) as a permanent outdoor test and display bed for cultivars suited to Pacific Northwest winters.
Mission: Public Education, Cultivation and Showing, and Member Communication
The Society’s website states three explicit missions: to inform and educate the public in fuchsia culture, to promote the growing and showing of fuchsias, and to provide the communication link to our member societies; NWFS publishes the Flash newsletter for its members and maintains a Scholarship page that funds students studying horticulture and plant sciences.
Spring Plant Sales Across Washington and Oregon
Each spring the Society and its branches hold plant sales offering fuchsia baskets, hardy cultivars, and companion plants such as daylilies and bearded iris; the 2026 schedule includes the Eastside Fuchsia Society Sale on May 2 at the Aaron Educational Center of Bellevue Botanical Garden, the Fuchsia Fanciers Spring Sale the same day at Centralia Outlet Mall, the Peninsula Fuchsia Society Sale at the Clear Creek Community Center in Silverdale, the LakeBay Fuchsia Society Sale on May 9 at the Key Peninsula Civic Center in Vaughn, the Oregon Fuchsia Society Sale on May 16 in the parking lot of Western Seminary in Portland, and the Lake Wilderness Arboretum Spring Plant Sale on April 24–25 in Maple Valley.
Summer Judged Shows and the Annual NWFS Show & Sale
Late summer and early fall are the Society’s judged-show season, when branch members evaluate member-grown fuchsias for cultivar identification and exhibition form: the Eastside Fuchsia Society Judged Show & Sale is held on August 15 at Bellevue Botanical Garden, the Oregon Fuchsia Society Judged Show runs August 21–23 at Portland Nursery, and the flagship NWFS Judged Show & Sale takes place on September 12 at Lake Wilderness Arboretum and is open to all NWFS members, with the Arboretum’s Fall Plant Sale running concurrently on the same grounds.
Flash Newsletter, Hardy Fuchsia List, and Eleven Local Branches
NWFS publishes the Flash newsletter quarterly, carrying member cultivation notes, new cultivar descriptions, branch activity reports, and judged-show results, and the website maintains the Hardy Fuchsia List of cultivars documented as winter-hardy in the Pacific Northwest (the most recent update adds ten new hardy cultivars in shocking pink), together with companion pages on Heat Tolerant Fuchsias, Fuchsia Species, Pests and Diseases, Container Fuchsias, and Fuchsia Books; the Society has eleven local branches spread across the Seattle metropolitan area, Olympia, Spokane, Portland, and Crescent City in northern California, and members may join a nearby branch or register as a Member-At-Large to receive the Flash newsletter remotely.
