园区概况
河岸动物园和植物园（Riverbanks Zoo and Garden）位于南卡罗来纳州哥伦比亚，是经美国动物园和水族馆协会（AZA）认证的会员机构。园区成立于1974年，占地170英亩，每年吸引超过100万名游客，现有会员家庭50,000个。
植物园

动物园饲养了3,000多种动物，设有海狮和企鹅现场直播、翠鹭山索道连接动物园与植物园等特色体验项目。游客可参与河岸跑步等年度特别活动。
保护与教育
河岸动物园致力于濒危物种保护，是AZA SAFE项目的合作伙伴，参与佛罗里达堡礁救援项目，同时推行绿色环保举措。园区为各年龄段提供丰富的教育项目，包括幼儿自然 preschool、动物园夏令营、homeschool项目等。

Overview
Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is located in Columbia, South Carolina, and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Established in 1974 on 170 acres, the zoo welcomes over one million visitors annually and serves 50,000 member households.
Botanical Garden
The 70-acre Botanical Garden has been recognized by Horticulture magazine as one of the 10 most inspiring gardens and named by HGTV as one of America’s 20 great public gardens. It showcases over 5,700 species of native and exotic plants across themed gardens including the Asian Garden, Bog Garden, Dry Garden, Shade Garden, and the 34,000-square-foot Walled Garden.
Zoo
Home to more than 3,000 animals, the zoo offers unique experiences including sea lion and penguin live streams, and the Saluda Skyride connecting the Zoo and Garden. Special annual events like the Riverbanks Run provide additional visitor engagement.
Conservation and Education
Riverbanks is committed to conservation, partnering with other AZA-accredited zoos on the AZA SAFE program and the Florida Reef Tract Rescue Project, while also implementing green initiatives. Educational offerings span nature preschool for young children, zoo camp, and homeschool programs.
