创立历史

特色花园
园区29个主题花园各具特色,其中最著名的是Hamilton Children’s Garden——西海岸最大的儿童花园,设有树屋、瀑布溪流、可食花园和巨型粉笔墙等互动设施。Bamboo Garden拥有北美地区最大的公共竹类收藏,收集来自全球的100余种竹类植物。园区还设有澳大利亚花园、非洲花园、竹园、棕榈峡谷、地中海花园、沙漠花园、热带雨林等多元主题区域,展示不同气候带的植物景观。
科研保护

History
Established in 1970 as Quail Botanical Gardens, the institution was renamed San Diego Botanic Garden in 2009 to better reflect its regional and international reputation. In 2025, SDBG celebrated its 55th anniversary, marking this milestone with special events and programs honoring its past while cultivating future growth.
Featured Gardens
Among SDBG’s 29 themed gardens, the Hamilton Children’s Garden stands out as the largest children’s garden on the West Coast, featuring Toni’s Tree House jungle canopy, the Incredible Edibles section, a mountain stream, and a giant chalkboard. The Bamboo Garden hosts North America’s largest public bamboo collection with over 100 species and cultivars from around the world. Other notable gardens include the Australian Garden, African Garden, Mediterranean Garden, Desert Garden, Tropical Rainforest, and the 8,000-square-foot Dickinson Family Education Conservatory showcasing rare tropical plants.
