历史沿革
安纳波利斯皇家历史园林 (Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens) 位于加拿大新斯科舍省历史悠久的安纳波利斯皇家镇，坐落于潮汐河谷边缘，是北美首个永久性欧洲定居点 (1605 年) 所在地。园林由安纳波利斯皇家历史园林协会 (Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens Society) 这一注册加拿大慈善机构于 1981 年正式对外开放，占地约十七英亩，至今已有四十余年运营历史，被广泛认为是新斯科舍省顶级园艺景点之一，并入选加拿大十佳值得专程造访的花园之列。

园林由多个主题园区串联而成，沿堤坝向西可远眺潮汐河谷景致。中央历史核心花园连接着多片附属展区，涵盖植物收藏、花园艺术、水景与自然区域。其中玫瑰收藏是最大亮点，汇集超过 270 个古老与现代栽培品种 (从药剂玫瑰等古老玫瑰到加拿大探险家系列、Parkland 系列与艺术家系列等现代杂交玫瑰)，是海洋省份地区规模最大的玫瑰系列展示。园内同时设有岩石花园、绣球花与萱草收藏、杜鹃花与石楠花境、常绿与观赏植物过渡带、泡桐 (中国皇后)、金莲花树、黎明红木与银杏等异域与活化石树种，以及被列为省级遗产树的美国啜泣榆。
历史与原住民文化展陈
园林是当地数百年定居史的活态档案，每一片主题展区对应区域历史的一个章节：从欧洲移民前米克马克人 (Mi’kmaq) 作为土地守护者的时代，到 17 世纪阿卡迪亚定居者引入新作物，再到当代园艺师的创新表达。园中重建的阿卡迪亚住宅 (Acadian House) 基于当地考古发掘的实物证据复原，为游客打开一扇可触摸的窗口，窥见先民日常生活。除此之外，园方持续运营 Bloom Report 花讯邮件订阅，以照片与文字记录当季花事，并常年举办季节性活动与园艺文化项目。
运营与会员体系
园林作为非营利组织运营，主要由会员、捐赠者、志愿者与参观者的支持维持。Gardens Shop 提供线上线下礼品、纪念品、门票与捐赠通道；Elm Tree Café 坐落于百年垂柳榆树荫下，提供简餐与饮品。会员可享受全季不限次入园、专属福利及参与特别活动的资格；PLUS ONE 会员可携带一名同伴同行。园方还提供助动车与轮椅借用 (捐赠制)、团体预订与无障碍设施，确保不同需求的访客都能舒适参观。
参观信息与年度活动

Founding & Mission
The Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens is a 17-acre heritage garden located in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, the site of North America’s first permanent European settlement (1605). Founded and operated by the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens Society, a registered Canadian charity, the Gardens have welcomed visitors since 1981 and are recognized among Canada’s top ten gardens worth travelling for. The Society’s mission is to ensure the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens is fostered as a world-class garden for existing and future generations.
Garden Areas & Rose Collection
Centrally themed historic gardens connect to multiple display areas, including plant collections, garden art, water features, and natural areas. The Rose Collection is the centrepiece, with over 270 cultivars ranging from heritage Apothecary Roses to modern Canadian Explorer, Parkland, and Artist series hybrids — the largest rose display in the Maritime provinces. Additional features include rock gardens, hydrangea and daylily collections, rhododendron and heather borders, carefully designed evergreen transitions, exotic specimens such as Empress Tree (Paulownia), Tulip Tree, Dawn Redwood and Ginkgo, and a provincially designated American Weeping Elm.
Living Heritage & Indigenous Stewardship
The Gardens are a living record of regional history, with each area reflecting a chapter of local settlement: from the Mi’kmaq people as the land’s original stewards, to 17th-century Acadian settlers who introduced new crops, to innovative contemporary gardeners. The reconstructed Acadian House, informed by local archaeological evidence, offers a tangible window into the lives of those who came before. The weekly Bloom Report delivers seasonal highlights via email, and the Gardens host year-round events, family programming, and horticultural exhibitions.
Charity, Membership & Visitor Services
Operated as a not-for-profit organization, the Gardens are sustained by members, donors, volunteers, and visitors. The Gardens Shop offers gifts, keepsakes, tickets and donations online and on site, while the Elm Tree Café serves light refreshments beneath a centuries-old weeping elm. Memberships include unlimited seasonal visits and exclusive perks; the PLUS ONE membership allows one guest per visit. Mobility scooters and wheelchairs are available on a donation basis, with accessibility services for all visitors.
Visiting Hours, Admission & Events
The Gardens are open year-round. May and October feature early/late-season admission at CAD 15.00 (tax included); June through September operate on regular pricing (tax included); November through April are admission by donation (suggested CAD 5 per person). Summer Saturdays extend to 8:00 pm. Only registered service animals are permitted; bicycles must be parked in designated areas.
