Origins and Colorado’s Only Orchid-Specialist Greenhouse

Fantasy Orchids began as a small backyard greenhouse built by its founder, originally supplying orchid plants to local hobbyists on a retail basis. Over three decades the nursery relocated to its present site in Louisville and gradually expanded into a combined retail-and-wholesale operation. Beyond retail and wholesale, Fantasy Orchids offers two distinctive service lines: Orchid Plant Boarding and Orchid Trade-In. The boarding program is designed for customers who cannot provide ideal growing conditions at home. The nursery takes custody of the customer’s orchid plants, watering, fertilizing, pruning and timing the bloom cycles on the customer’s behalf so that the customer can enjoy flowering orchids in the home even when their own growing environment would not support blooms. The nursery proactively contacts customers when their boarded plants approach flowering so they can be picked up. The trade-in program allows customers to bring in healthy orchids that have finished blooming and exchange them for a twenty-percent discount toward an equivalent new blooming plant. The program both helps customers refresh their home collections and allows the nursery to recirculate healthy plants. Alongside these two signature services, the nursery also offers orchid rental for weddings and events, custom bridal orchid bouquets and corporate plant rental programs.
