苏州园林设计院股份有限公司总部设在江苏省苏州市，是国内最早成立的风景园林专业设计单位之一。1978 年起苏州园林设计室在美国纽约大都会艺术博物馆「明轩」设计组的基础上开始筹建，1982 年 5 月正式挂牌成立苏州园林设计室，1987 年获得全国首批风景园林甲级设计资质。1993 年 1 月更名为苏州园林设计院，2003 年起以股份公司形式运行，现为股份有限公司。本部现有 180 余位资深设计师，并设有雄安、厦门、河北等多家分支机构。

公司持有风景园林设计甲级、建筑工程设计乙级、文物保护工程设计乙级、城乡规划编制乙级、道路工程设计丙级、旅游规划设计丙级以及工程总承包业务相应资质，同时具有国外工程承包和劳务合作经营权。主营业务覆盖风景名胜区、城镇与古村落、城市绿地系统的规划设计，城市景观设计，风景园林和居住区环境设计，古典园林修复与仿古建筑设计，博物馆、宾馆山庄、花园别墅、度假村等特色民用建筑设计，以及文物保护工程设计、旅游规划、智慧城市等相关设计。
学术机构合作与科研体系
公司与北京林业大学、东南大学、苏州大学、苏州科技大学等多所高校建立了产学研一体化合作关系，先后成立了孟兆祯院士工作站、贺风春大师工作室，完成了多项省部级课题并获得国家多项专利证书。公司现设有省级研究中心 3 个、市级研究中心 3 个、院级研究中心 6 个，研究方向涵盖园林遗产保护、风景园林 BIM、空间绿色生态体系、水土生态修复等。公司还与重庆市设计院、中国建筑西南设计研究院等机构开展项目层面的合作。

成立四十多年来，公司在国内累计完成各类风景园林设计项目超过百余项，获国家、省部级优秀设计奖百余项。代表性国内项目包括苏州环秀山庄修复工程、苏州明代艺圃修复工程、苏州万景山庄盆景园、苏州环古城风貌保护工程、虎丘西溪环翠景区、苏州工业园区李公堤景观、苏州木渎虹饮山房、阳澄湖置地酒店环境设计等。2018 年公司与境外多家知名设计机构同台竞争，中标雄安新区第一标《容东（西侧）生态绿地概念性方案》国际招标。海外业务方面，公司先后在美国、加拿大、法国、马耳他、瑞典、新加坡等国家完成经典园林作品，包括美国纽约大都会艺术博物馆「明轩」、美国波特兰「兰苏园」、美国纽约「寄兴园」、马耳他「中国园」、瑞典「中国园」、加拿大中山公园「逸园」等。

Company Profile and Historical Evolution
Suzhou Institute of Landscape Architecture Design Co., Ltd. is based in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, and is among the earliest professional landscape architecture design institutes established in China. Its predecessor was the design team that produced Ming Xuan, the first complete classical Chinese garden exported to the West at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 1980. The Suzhou Landscape Design Studio was formally established in May 1982, received one of the first national Class A landscape architecture qualifications in 1987, and was renamed Suzhou Institute of Landscape Architecture Design in January 1993. The firm now operates as a joint-stock company with more than 180 senior designers at its headquarters and branch offices in Xiongan, Xiamen and Hebei.
Qualifications and Business Lines
The institute holds a Class A qualification in landscape architecture design, Class B qualifications in architectural design, cultural relics protection engineering design and urban-rural planning, and Class C qualifications in road engineering and tourism planning, together with general contracting and overseas contracting authorisation. Its work covers scenic area planning, town and ancient village planning, urban green-space system planning, urban landscape design, residential environment design, classical garden restoration and traditional-style architectural design, as well as museums, hotels, hill villas, garden villas and resort design, cultural relics protection engineering, tourism planning and smart-city related design.
Academic Collaboration and Research System
The institute maintains industry-academia collaboration with Beijing Forestry University, Southeast University, Soochow University and Suzhou University of Science and Technology. It hosts Academician Meng Zhaozhen’s workstation and Master He Fengchun’s studio, has completed provincial and ministerial-level research projects and holds several national patents. The research system includes three provincial-level research centres, three municipal-level centres and six institute-level centres, covering garden heritage conservation, landscape BIM, spatial green ecological systems and water-soil ecological restoration. Project-level cooperation extends to Chongqing Design Institute and China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute.
Representative Works and Overseas Track Record
Over more than forty years the institute has completed more than one hundred award-winning landscape architecture projects at national, provincial and ministerial level. Representative domestic works include the restoration of Huanxiu Villa in Suzhou, the restoration of the Ming-dynasty Yipu Garden, Wanjing Hill Bonsai Garden, the Suzhou historic-city moat protection project, the Huqiu Xixi Huancui scenic area, Ligongdi in the Suzhou Industrial Park, Hongyin Shanfang in Mudu, and the Yangcheng Lake Landison Hotel environment design. In 2018 the firm won the international competition for the first Xiongan New Area lot, the Rongdong (West Side) Ecological Green-space Conceptual Plan. Overseas, it has produced classical garden works in the United States, Canada, France, Malta, Sweden and Singapore, including Ming Xuan at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Portland Lan Su Garden, the New York Jixing Garden, the Malta Chinese Garden, the Sweden Chinese Garden and the Vancouver Zhongshan Park Yi Garden.
Organisational Structure and Development Vision
The institute’s internal organisation includes a Landscape Architecture Studio, a Landscape Construction Studio, an Innovation Research Institute, a Planning Institute, an Urban Renewal Studio, a Smart-city Studio, a Masters Studio, a Quality Department and a General Contracting division, with branch offices in Xiongan, Xiamen and Hebei. The institute’s stated vision is to become a leading Chinese landscape architecture design firm and a recognised Chinese brand for gardens going out into the world. The development strategy follows three tracks: specialisation in core landscape design with the Suzhou-school characteristics of refinement, detail, elegance and beauty; integration of consulting, planning, design, contracting and supervision into one industry chain; and diversification into urban planning, green-space system planning, tourism planning, ancient village conservation planning, cultural relics protection planning, ecological wetland design, characteristic cultural architecture, lighting, municipal pipeline and road-bridge design, smart city design and sponge city design.
