协会沿革

德国园林艺术与景观文化协会（Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gartenkunst und Landschaftskultur e.V., DGGL）于 1887 年 5 月 10 日在德累斯顿由 32 位成员发起成立，初名「德国园林艺术家协会」（Verein deutscher Gartenkünstler, VdG），主要发起人是苗圃主 Max Bertram、宫廷花园总监 Carl Hampel 与柏林大学植物园主任 Johann Carl Friedrich Bouché，首任主席为萨克森皇家宫廷花园总监 Gustav Friedrich Krause。协会的宗旨从一开始就包括：界定行业利益、制订酬金标准、推动设立园艺师的高等教育课程，并成为园林艺术改革的讨论平台。1948 年更名为「德国园林艺术与景观养护协会」，1955 年完成原组织的解散重组后定名为「德国园林艺术与景观文化协会」（DGGL）。协会为非营利社团，在德国联邦法院登记为 95 VR 2453 B 号法人，联邦总部（Bundesgeschäftsstelle）设在柏林市中心 Pariser Platz 6 号 Allianz Forum。

组织结构与全国网络

DGGL 是独立、不受职业与政党倾向影响的全国性总会，会员涵盖景观设计师、规划师、企业主、行政与园艺从业者、教师、学生以及园艺爱好者。组织结构由联邦总会（Bundesverband）、联邦州分会（Landesverbände）、若干工作组（Arbeitskreise）以及 Gartennetz Deutschland 共同组成。联邦总会每年两次协同各州分会在德国不同地点召开 Landesverbandskonferenzen 工作会议。工作组目前包括五个分支：1963 年在巴伐利亚成立的「历史花园」工作组、「青年景观建筑师」工作组、「城市绿化」工作组、「林荫大道」工作组、「景观文化」工作组。2012 年协会在黑森州 Wiesbaden-Biebrich 宫内设立 DGGL-Akademie，该宫花园是 Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell（1750–1823）最后一件作品。

出版物与图书馆

协会主办与发行的主要出版物包括：1890 年创办的《Zeitschrift für bildende Gartenkunst》（1899 年改名《Die Gartenkunst》，1948 年定名《GARTEN + LANDSCHAFT》），这本刊物由 Georg D.W. 奖项与人才计划

协会 2001 年起设立 DGGL 文化奖（Kulturpreis），奖牌造型为「金椴叶」（Goldenes Lindenblatt），旨在表彰在园林艺术与景观文化领域作出突出贡献的个人与机构，评选重点为公众影响、园林文化遗产保护、当代景观建筑设计以及文化景观议题。2023 年在科隆 Flora 植物园举办的颁奖仪式将奖项授予 Klaus Bäumler、「停止兜售魏玛绿地」行动联盟、科隆植物园之友协会以及 Prof. Dr. Michael Rohde（针对历史园林应对气候变化的特别奖）。面向青年专业人才的 Ulrich-Wolf 助学金（DGGL-Förderpreis）自 1971 年起在埃森联邦园艺展（BUGA Essen）框架下首次颁发，用以资助景观建筑领域的年轻从业者。

合作项目与公众参与

2007 年起德国各地的区域性园艺倡议组织联合成立 Gartennetz Deutschland，2017 年并入 DGGL 旗下，目前共有 22 个园艺倡议组织，涵盖数百座公园与花园；其主要活动包括源自法国、目前覆盖 20 个欧洲国家的「Rendezvous im Garten」花园节（每年 6 月第一个周末）。协会与其他专业团体合作参与了「历史花园与气候变化」倡议联盟（Bündnis Historische Gärten im Klimawandel）、绿色专业团体联邦大会（Bundeskongress der Grünen Verbände）等项目；协会总部对政策与管理部门提供咨询，发布专业声明，并通过 Arbeitskreis Junge Landschaftsarchitekten 推行职业培训。协会现任主席（Präsidentin）为 Prof. Dr. em. Bettina Oppermann（原汉诺威莱布尼茨大学 Freiraumentwicklung 研究所）。

Historical Evolution

Founded on 10 May 1887 in Dresden as the “Verein deutscher Gartenkünstler” (VdG) by 32 members, the association was initiated by nurseryman Max Bertram, Royal Court Garden Director Carl Hampel and Berlin University Botanical Garden director Johann Carl Friedrich Bouché. Its first chair was Gustav Friedrich Krause, Royal Saxon Court Garden Director. The original remit covered professional representation, fee schedules, the establishment of higher education for garden designers, and a forum for reform debates. The name was extended in 1948 and the present title “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gartenkunst und Landschaftskultur” (DGGL) was adopted after a 1955 dissolution and re-founding. DGGL is registered as a non-profit association (95 VR 2453 B) at the Berlin-Charlottenburg local court; its federal office is at Pariser Platz 6, Allianz Forum, 10117 Berlin.

Structure and Network

DGGL is an independent, professionally and politically neutral federal association, with members in all sixteen German Länder. Its structure consists of a Bundesverband (federal level), sixteen Landesverbände (state chapters), five Arbeitskreise (working groups on Historic Gardens, Young Landscape Architects, Green in the City, Allees, and Landscape Culture), and Gartennetz Deutschland. The Bundesverband organises two Landesverbandskonferenzen per year in rotating German cities, publishes an annual themed yearbook and the magazine GARTEN + LANDSCHAFT, and runs the DGGL Kulturpreis. The DGGL-Akademie was founded in 2012 at Schloss Wiesbaden-Biebrich in Hesse, in the park that was the last work of Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell (1750–1823).

Publications and Library

The association’s principal publication is the journal GARTEN + LANDSCHAFT, launched in 1890 as “Zeitschrift für bildende Gartenkunst”, renamed “Die Gartenkunst” in 1899, and given its present title in 1948; it has been published by Georg D.W. Callwey in Munich since 1956. The DGGL also issues an annual themed yearbook; the 2025 volume treats “Wald” (forest) as a cultural landscape shaped by climate, society and history. The 2011 DGGL Reiseführer, 7th edition, lists more than 1,500 parks in Germany. Closely linked is the Deutsche Gartenbaubibliothek: its roots lie in the 1822 “Verein zur Beförderung des Gartenbaues”, the holdings of which were merged in 1936 by Dr Robert Zander; since 1965 the collection has been on permanent loan to the Universitätsbibliothek of Technische Universität Berlin, and in 2017 it took its current name. It holds more than 56,000 volumes, 24,000 of them monographs, plus 1,700 periodical titles, with the oldest book dating from 1529 and the oldest periodical from 1783; DGGL members may use it free of charge.

Prizes and Talent Schemes

Since 2001, DGGL has awarded the Kulturpreis “Goldenes Lindenblatt” to individuals and institutions that have made outstanding contributions to garden art and landscape culture, with a focus on public impact, the protection of garden heritage, and contemporary landscape architecture. The 2023 ceremony at Flora Köln honoured Klaus Bäumler, the “Stoppt den Ausverkauf von Weimars Grün” action alliance, the Freundeskreis Botanischer Garten Köln e.V., and Prof. Dr Michael Rohde (special prize for adapting historic gardens to climate change). The DGGL-Förderpreis “Ulrich Wolf” was first awarded in 1971 at BUGA Essen to support young practitioners in landscape architecture, and is administered by the Arbeitskreis Junge Landschaftsarchitekten.

Cooperation and Public Engagement

The Gartennetz Deutschland was formed in 2007 as an alliance of regional garden initiatives and integrated into DGGL in 2017; it now represents 22 regional garden initiatives covering several hundred parks and gardens. Its flagship event is “Rendezvous im Garten”, the European garden festival held on the first weekend of June in 20 European countries, originally a French initiative. DGGL also takes part in the “Initiativbündnis Historische Gärten im Klimawandel”, the Bundeskongress der Grünen Verbände, and provides policy advice to federal and state authorities. The current Präsidentin is Prof. Dr em. Bettina Oppermann, formerly of the Institut für Freiraumentwicklung at Leibniz Universität Hannover.
