Peter Beales Roses
(World Leader in Classic Roses)。
按玫瑰类型分,Peter Beales Roses 的目录覆盖:Shrub Roses(灌木玫瑰,包括大多数经典与现代灌木系)、Climbing Roses(攀缘玫瑰)、Rambling Roses(蔓生玫瑰)、Floribunda(多花玫瑰)、Hybrid Teas(杂交茶香玫瑰)、Patio Roses(露台小型玫瑰)、Standard Tree Roses(树形标准玫瑰)、Species / Wild Roses(野生玫瑰原种)、Persica Hybrid、Procumbent(地被型)等十余个大类。
About Peter Beales Roses
Peter Beales Roses is a family-run rose nursery founded in 1968 in Norfolk, England, by Peter Beales. The nursery is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading growers of classic roses, with more than thirty RHS Chelsea Gold Medal awards across its history. Its current catalogue includes over one thousand bare-root and four hundred potted varieties, ranging across shrub, climbing, rambling, hybrid tea, floribunda, patio, standard, species and procumbent types.
Catalogue and Planting Style
The bare-root season runs from November to March, when roses are naturally dormant and establish most readily. Potted roses are available year-round, with a separate retail price point and a two-year hand-cultivation guarantee on every plant before sale. Rose colour is one of the most common search criteria, and the site groups varieties from pink, white, cream, yellow, orange, light pink, dark pink, purple, red, bicolour and striped to deep red, mauve and brownish shades.
Production and Sales
All plants are hand-tended at the Norfolk site for at least two years before sale. Bare-root pre-orders open in late summer, with dispatches beginning in November in the order received. Potted roses ship year-round. UK delivery starts at £3.95 and is free on orders above £75. International orders are dispatched to selected overseas partners, with Japan and New Zealand among the established destinations.
Display Garden, Restaurant and Public Events
The nursery’s two-acre display garden, the Rosarium, is open to the public free of charge every day of the year. The on-site Rosarium Restaurant serves light meals and rose-themed drinks to visitors who arrive to study the plants rather than to buy. Throughout the year the nursery runs workshops, pruning demonstrations, plant breeding tours and visits from international rose groups.
Breeding and Cross-Border Collaboration
Peter Beales Roses maintains parallel relationships with David Austin Roses, the Royal National Rose Society, the Historic Roses Group, and Heritage Roses New Zealand (gardeningeye.com/14349/). The nursery has also begun publishing its own new hybrid introductions under the Peter Beales brand, complementing its historic-variety conservation work.
