从 Tansacha 家族 1954 年购置土地到 1980 年向公众开放
Nongnooch 热带植物园（Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden，泰文 สวนนงนุชพัทยา，又名 Nongnooch Pattaya Garden）位于泰国春武里府（Chonburi Province）Sattahip 区素坤逸路 163 公里里程碑处，距芭堤雅南约 20 公里。1954 年，Khun Pisit 与 Khun Nongnooch Tansacha 夫妇以 1,500 莱（约 600 英亩）的价格购入这片起伏的丘陵与谷地，原计划用作芒果、橙子、椰子等本地水果的果园；Khun Nongnooch 出访海外时被各国知名庭园打动，又喜爱花卉，于是将果园整体改造成供游客参观的热带观赏花园，并陆续增建泰式屋、凉亭屋、镇屋、游泳池、餐厅与会议室等接待设施。1980 年园区正式对公众开放，定位为「一座面向全世界人民的花园」（A garden for all people of this world），每日上演泰式文化表演和大象剧场秀；1983 年 Khun Nongnooch 将日常管理交予儿子 Khun Kampon Tansacha，园区此后的快速扩张均出自其手。
Cycad Gene Bank 与植物专类园体系
Nongnooch 不仅是热带观赏园，更是东南亚规模最大的苏铁（Cycad）迁地保育与研究中心，园方设立 Cycad Gene Bank，由国际苏铁专家 Anders J. Lindstrom 主持，引种涵盖东南亚、中美洲与中非洲的苏铁物种，几乎涵盖全球已知苏铁的大部分类群，与多家保育机构合作开展苏铁分类学与园艺利用研究。园区按地理与艺术主题划分专类园，包括 Cactus Garden 仙人掌温室（汇集 Echinocactus grusonii 金琥、Pachycereus pringlei 墨西哥巨人柱、Melocactus sergipensis、Echinopsis、Lobivia 等多种仙人掌与多肉）、Garden in the Sky 空中花园（由 Kampon Tansacha 设计，分两层，借助 LED 补光与喷雾系统养护悬挂与抬升的蕨类、兰花、凤梨、龙舌兰、苏铁、变叶木、盆景与万年青）、Italian Garden 意式庭园（Nongnooch 最早期的作品，陈列意大利大理石雕像）、Stonehenge Garden 史前石阵花园（2000 年建成，所用石材来自巴真武里府，石上刻有献词）、French Gardens 法式庭园（1998 年开放，灵感来自凡尔赛宫花园，两座法式园之间悬挂不丹使馆 2018 年赠送的九面 Bhutan 祈祷旗，每半年更换一次）。
法国花园、史前恐龙谷与湖泊 Arapaima 体系
1996-1997 年间，Kampon 主持开挖东侧两座湖泊，挖出的土方堆入山谷，先用作向日葵花田，随后借鉴凡尔赛宫花园的造园语汇，1998 年建成 French Gardens 1 与 2，使整座园区的几何花坛、对称水渠与远景轴线具有欧洲宫廷园林的尺度。2016 年起，Kampon 又在 French Garden 2 周边兴建 Dinosaur Valley 史前恐龙谷，于 2017 年 4 月 10 日正式开放，园内陈列 Oviraptor、Styracosaurus、Cryolophosaurus 等 180 余件不同属种的恐龙模型，造型涵盖三叠纪至白垩纪各时期，成为继法式园之后的第二条主题环线。东侧两座湖泊中放养源自亚马逊河的 Arapaima gigas 巨骨舌鱼，游客可在岸边购买饲料亲手投喂；园区另有 Animals Kingdom 动物王国分区，饲养白虎、雪豹、灰熊、土豚、红河猪、狒狒、波斯猫等数十种哺乳动物，并配有大象剧场秀、Thai Cultural Performances 泰式文化表演与 Cabaret Show 百老汇歌舞秀等每日驻场演出。
Nongnooch Resort、SPA 与 NICE 会议中心
园区围绕东湖配建 Nongnooch Pattaya Garden & Resort 度假酒店与三栋 Villa：Nongnooch Resort（1 卧 3 床 1 卫现代公寓带私人阳台、面朝中央泳池）、Lakeside Villa（可从阳台望浮水植物园、1 卧 1 卫）、Garden Villa（2 卧 2 卫 1 厅，分豪华、高级、标准三档，可容四人入住）、Rimnam Villa（湖滨静谧庭院式别墅，适合小团体与家庭）。酒店之外另设 Nongnooch Spa & Massage，提供泰式按摩、草药按摩、面部按摩、身体磨砂、香薰精油、桑拿等十余种理疗服务，时间 10:00-22:00。MICE 一侧，园区紧邻 NICE（Nongnooch Pattaya International Convention and Exhibition，นงนุชพัทยา อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล คอนเวนชั่น แอนด์ เอ็กซิบิชั่น）国际会展中心，总面积 5,610 平方米，可容纳多达 12,000 人，配备 Mahajak Development 调校的扩声系统，配套 Nongnooch Tradition Hall、Nongnooch Arena、Jamjuree Room、Rimbueng Hall 1/2/3、Thai Village、Nantha Hall 等多个宴会厅与会议厅，常年承接婚宴、研讨会与产业展览（如 2023-2025 年连续三年举办的 MiRA 工业自动化与机器人展）。
泰国芭堤雅文化地标与植物保育坐标
Nongnooch 热带植物园占地约 500 英亩（约 2 平方公里），被广泛认为是东南亚最大的热带植物园与全球最重要的苏铁迁地保育中心之一；其对外采用两档定价体系，泰国本地成人 THB 300、外籍游客成人 THB 600。作为泰国东南部排名第一的旅游目的地，园区日均接待来自世界各地的游客超过 2,000 人次，长期被国际园艺与旅游媒体列入「世界十大最美花园」与「亚洲必访植物园」榜单。除主营园艺与旅游外，Tansacha 家族另在巴真武里府（Prachin Buri）设有 Nongnooch Camping Resort（2001 年 11 月 30 日开放）、在清莱经营果园，与主园区协同形成 Tansacha 家族式的植物展示—休闲度假—会议会展复合体；2019 年园区亦曾就大象福利议题作出公开回应，主张以严格训练与兽医监管保障园区 12 头驻场大象的健康与表演安全。
From the Tansacha Family Land Purchase in 1954 to the 1980 Public Opening
Nongnooch Pattaya Tropical Botanical Garden (Thai: สวนนงนุชพัทยา) covers about 500 acres (roughly 2.0 km²) on Sukhumvit Road at the 163-kilometer marker in Najomtien, Sattahip, Chonburi Province, about 20 km south of Pattaya. In 1954 Pisit and Nongnooch Tansacha purchased 1,500 rai (about 600 acres) of rolling hills and valleys, originally intending to plant mango, orange, coconut and other local fruit trees; after a field trip abroad inspired her by the world’s great gardens, Nongnooch decided to convert the orchard into a tropical ornamental garden, and progressively added Thai-style houses, a swimming pool, restaurants and seminar rooms. The garden officially opened to the public in 1980 under the slogan “A garden for all people of this world”, with daily Thai cultural performances and an Elephant Show. In 1983 Nongnooch handed day-to-day management to her son Kampon Tansacha, who has since led every major expansion of the property.
Cycad Gene Bank and the Thematic Garden Collection
Beyond its role as a tropical display garden, Nongnooch operates Southeast Asia’s largest ex-situ Cycad Gene Bank, run by cycad specialist Anders J. Lindstrom and stocked with species from Southeast Asia, tropical America and Central Africa that together cover nearly every known genus of cycad, with active research in taxonomy and horticulture in partnership with conservation agencies. The garden organizes its plantings into thematic areas: a Cactus Garden glasshouse with Echinocactus grusonii, Pachycereus pringlei, Melocactus sergipensis, Echinopsis and Lobivia; the Garden in the Sky, designed by Kampon Tansacha across two elevated levels with LED-assisted photosynthesis and mist irrigation, displaying ferns, orchids, bromeliads, agave, cycads, crotons, bonsai and aglaonema; the Italian Garden, Nongnooch’s earliest garden with Italian marble statuary; the Stonehenge Garden, completed in 2000 with stones sourced from Prachinburi province and engraved with a dedication; and the French Gardens, opened in 1998 with Versailles-inspired parterre geometry, between which fly nine prayer flags of Bhutan gifted by the Bhutanese Embassy in 2018 and ceremonially replaced every six months.
The French Gardens, Dinosaur Valley and Arapaima Lakes
Between 1996 and 1997 Kampon Tansacha excavated two large lakes east of the property and used the spoil to fill a valley, first planted as a sunflower field and then reshaped into French Gardens 1 and 2 in 1998, where the parterre symmetry, axial alleys and grand canals deliberately echo the geometric vocabulary of the Gardens of Versailles. In 2016 Kampon commissioned a first Triceratops model placed near the Cactus Garden; the popularity of the dinosaurs led him to build a dedicated Dinosaur Valley, opened on 10 April 2017 around French Garden 2, now exhibiting more than 180 replicas spanning genera such as Oviraptor, Styracosaurus and Cryolophosaurus. The two east lakes are home to Arapaima gigas from the Amazon, and visitors may feed the fish from the shoreline. The Cactus Garden and a separate Animals Kingdom complete the living-collection tour, with white tigers, snow leopards, grizzly bears, aardvarks, red river hogs, warthogs, donkeys, Boer goats, Persian cats and more; the daily program adds an Elephant Show, a Thai Cultural Performance and a Cabaret Show inside a 12,000-seat theater.
Nongnooch Resort, Spa and the NICE Convention Center
Around the east lakes the property operates the Nongnooch Pattaya Garden & Resort with one resort block and three villas: the modern Nongnooch Resort (one bedroom, three beds, one bathroom, private balcony overlooking a large swimming pool); the Lakeside Villa (one bedroom, one bathroom, verandah overlooking the floating-plant garden); the Garden Villa (two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one living room, available in Deluxe, Superior and Standard classes for up to four guests); and the Rimnam Villa, a tranquil waterside residence for groups and families. The on-site Nongnooch Spa & Massage offers Thai, herbal and foot massage, body scrubs, aroma-therapy oils, steam and sauna daily from 10:00 to 22:00. For MICE, the adjacent NICE (Nongnooch Pattaya International Convention and Exhibition, นงนุชพัทยา อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล คอนเวนชั่น แอนด์ เอ็กซิบิชั่น) provides 5,610 m² of floor space for up to 12,000 delegates, with a Mahajak Development audio system and companion halls such as Nongnooch Tradition Hall, Nongnooch Arena, Jamjuree Room, Rimbueng Hall 1/2/3, Thai Village and Nantha Hall, hosting recurring exhibitions such as the MiRA automation-and-robotics fair held on site in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
A Pattaya Cultural Landmark and a Cycad Conservation Reference
Nongnooch Pattaya Tropical Botanical Garden is widely cited as the largest botanical garden in Southeast Asia and a global reference point for cycad conservation; admission is tiered, with Thai-national adult tickets at THB 300 and non-Thai adult tickets at THB 600. The garden receives more than 2,000 visitors a day from around the world and is consistently featured on international “Top 10 Most Beautiful Gardens” and “Must-Visit Asian Botanical Gardens” lists. Beyond the Pattaya campus the Tansacha family also runs the Nongnooch Camping Resort in Prachinburi, opened 30 November 2001, and a fruit estate in Chiang Rai, forming a family-led network that links display horticulture, leisure hospitality and MICE venues. In 2019 the garden publicly responded to international concerns about the welfare of its twelve resident elephants, citing veterinary oversight, controlled training routines and progressive retirement programs for older animals as the framework behind its daily performances.
