协会由来
荷兰玉簪协会（Nederlandse Hosta Vereniging，简称 NHV）成立于 1989 年 4 月 22 日，由玉簪爱好者 Arie van Vliet 在荷兰发起创立。协会总部位于荷兰北荷兰省（Noord-Holland）的库德尔斯塔特（Kudelstaart），是一个面向荷兰及周边低地国家玉簪爱好者的全国性民间组织，现有成员约 200 人。
宗旨与活动
协会的宗旨是增进人们对玉簪（hosta）这一耐阴观叶植物的认识与兴趣。为达成这一目标，协会每年组织多类活动，包括会员大会（Ledenvergadering）、玉簪学术研讨日（Hostastudiedag）、夏季与晚秋的花园与苗圃考察旅行（excursies）、专题讲座，以及参加各类植物与花园展会——例如 2026 年 6 月在阿珀尔滕花园（Tuinen van Appeltern）举办的植物市集上，协会就设有信息展位。
协会刊物
协会的正式会刊为《Het Hostablad》，每年春、秋各出版一期，内容涵盖玉簪栽培知识文章、协会活动纪要、新品种介绍、广告与大量实拍照片。除正刊外，协会另发行电子通讯《Hosta Neuzen》（意为”玉簪闲话”），每年通常出版两期，专门预告即将举办的考察、讲座、会员大会等日程。
协会年表
协会自 1989 年成立以来稳步发展：2013 年 2 月在瓦赫宁恩大学举办了第一届研究学会日；2014 年举办了 25 周年庆典，会员与宾客在赫森赫夫苗圃（Hessenhof）等地共庆；2019 年在鹿特丹的 Trompenburg 树木园举办了 30 周年庆典，由创会元老 Arie van Vliet 与时任主席 Karin 共同揭晓协会的扩展新名——”Hosta Vereniging de Lage Landen”（低地国家玉簪协会），将服务范围从荷兰扩展至整个低地国家。
加入与参与
协会面向公众开放申请。年费（contributie）为 27.50 欧元，覆盖整个日历年。会员可收到两期《Het Hostablad》会刊、《Hosta Neuzen》通讯，以及考察、研讨日和会员大会的邀请函。具体报名方式与最新活动安排以协会官网公布为准。
Origins
The Nederlandse Hosta Vereniging (NHV), or Dutch Hosta Society, was founded on 22 April 1989 by hosta enthusiast Arie van Vliet in the Netherlands. Its correspondence address sits in Kudelstaart, in the province of North Holland (Noord-Holland), and the society now counts roughly 200 members across the Low Countries.
Mission & Activities
Its aim is to advance knowledge of and enthusiasm for hostas — the hardy shade-loving foliage perennials. To that end, the society organises an annual programme that includes the general members’ meeting (Ledenvergadering), a Hosta Study Day (Hostastudiedag), summer and late-summer garden and nursery excursions, themed lectures, and a presence at plant and garden fairs — including an information booth at the Plantenmarkt held at the Tuinen van Appeltern in June 2026.
Publications
The society’s main publication is Het Hostablad, issued twice a year in spring and autumn, with articles on hosta cultivation, reports on society events, hosta news, advertisements and many photographs. Alongside the journal, the society publishes an electronic newsletter, Hosta Neuzen, generally twice a year, devoted to upcoming excursions, lectures and members’ meetings.
Society Milestones
The society has grown steadily since its 1989 founding: in 2013 it held its first Hosta Study Day at Wageningen University; 2014 marked the 25th anniversary, celebrated with members and guests at the Hessenhof perennial nursery; in 2019 the 30th anniversary was held at the Trompenburg Arboretum in Rotterdam, where founding member Arie van Vliet and the sitting chair Karin unveiled the society’s expanded new name — Hosta Vereniging de Lage Landen (Hosta Society of the Low Lands) — extending its remit beyond the Netherlands.
Joining the Society
Membership is open to all. The annual fee (contributie) is €27.50, covering the calendar year, and members receive two issues of Het Hostablad, the Hosta Neuzen newsletters, and entry to excursions, the study day and the members’ meeting.
