## 开放参观与销售

## Nursery Overview

Agapanthuskwekerij is a family-run plant nursery located in Aalter, East Flanders, run by Tim Wyckstandt together with Lauren Uylebroeck. The nursery took over the Agapanthus cultivar collection originally assembled under the mentorship of Maurice Vergote, and focuses on growing, curating and breeding Agapanthus for garden enthusiasts.

## Cultivar Collection and Breeding

Roughly 140 flowering Agapanthus cultivars are kept in the active collection, with new selections added each season. In addition to selling acclimatised plants, the team is actively hand-crossing Agapanthus to develop new cultivars, and several of their own selections have already reached the market. The home-bred ‘Poppin Purple’ has been recognised with a Florall award, one of Belgium’s main horticultural trade prizes. The nursery holds the MPS-ABC sustainable horticultural production certificate and complies with the Vegaplan Standaard NET agricultural sustainability standard, with the operating company (Agapanthus BV) registered with Fresh from Flanders under company number 0765.677.121.

## International Reach

The nursery keeps a close eye on breeding developments across the world, with a particular focus on programmes in South Africa — the ancestral home of Agapanthus — and brings promising new releases into the European market early. Plants raised at Aalter are meanwhile shipped to gardeners in Africa, Asia and North America, where they grow and flower successfully under a wide range of climates.

## Open Greenhouse Days

Each spring the nursery opens its glasshouses to the public for the Open Serre Dagen, offering Agapanthus, other perennials, ornamental grasses and flowering bulbs together with lava, potting soil and decorative pots. Opening hours run from 10:00 to 18:00 on Saturdays; the nursery is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Specific dates and any overlapping events such as the Beervelde garden days are announced on the nursery homepage.

## Ordering and Shipping

Customers abroad can use the Bestelformulier (order form) published on the nursery homepage to place orders, and the nursery arranges packing and cross-border shipping accordingly. The latest cultivar list, stock availability and shipping terms are always published on the nursery homepage.
