庄园背景与园艺起点
阿伦花园（Alen Trädgård）位于瑞典西海岸的特约恩岛（Tjörn） Hjälteby 村, 距桑兹比庄园约一公里, 沿 160 号公路可到. 庄园 Alen 这一名称最早在 1795 年教区记事录中作为 Fjälebro 村的一处佃农屋出现, 1850 年在法定换地（laga skifte）后形成现有的 1/8 曼塔尔规模; 现由格坦（Göran）与莫妮卡（Monica, 又称 Monne）Hermanson 夫妇打理. 现今园主格坦是这一带 Kihl 村 Valla 教区的本地人, 莫妮卡同样来自当地. 两人最早接触园艺是因为 2002 年 8 月一场暴雨将园子基本冲毁, 2003 年起他们重新整地、沿园中开挖排水沟, 并修筑了抬升式花坛, 因为庄园所在地是古老海床, 土壤为纯蓝色黏土, 抬升式花坛更适合排水.
杜鹃收藏与本地园艺协会网络
格坦主要的收藏兴趣是杜鹃属（Rhododendron）, 莫妮卡则是玉簪属（Hosta, 当地称 funkia）与萱草属（Hemerocallis, 即 daylily）, 此外铁线莲属（Clematis）与芍药属（Paeonia）也是他们的长期收集方向. 格坦加入瑞典杜鹃协会（Svenska Rhododendronsällskapet, SRS）后, 对叶面被不同厚度的绒毛层（indument）覆盖的杜鹃叶片产生了收藏兴趣, 自 2004 年起进行播种繁殖, 2009/2010 年起大规模杂交育种, 园中种质库已记录有 60 余种原种杜鹃、100 余种商业杂交品种以及数十个自育杂交组合, 是瑞典西海岸民间规模较大的杜鹃爱好者花园之一. 他们也是瑞典园艺爱好者协会（Sällskapet Trädgårdsamatörerna, STA）的成员, 该协会为他们早期学习播种与扦插技术提供了渠道. 莫妮卡还参与创立了特约恩园艺协会（Tjörns Trädgårdsförening）, 协会在 Alen 举办过两次杜鹃扦插课程, 由杜鹃育种家 Michael Zvorc 主讲.
扦插与杂交的实操经验
格坦的繁殖方法以扦插为主, 播种为辅. 他在 2009/2010 年间通过杂交育种尝试培育出叶片更厚实、株型更紧凑或叶面绒毛层更具观赏性的新品种, 自育组合包括 ‘yaku x bureavii’ 与 ‘strigillosum’ 回交系列、’adenogynum’ 与 ‘microgynum’、’bureavii’ 与 ‘tsariense’ 等多个尝试; 部分种子来自丹麦杜鹃协会的 Bent Ernebjerg 经云南考察带回的材料. 莫妮卡的玉簪属收藏以叶色与叶形变化为方向, 包括 ‘Hosta sieboldiana’、’H. montana’、’H. fortunei’ 系列及多个 variegata 叶艺品种; 萱草收藏同样覆盖常见商业杂交种与少量自交优选株系. 园中其他植物类群还包括铁线莲属（C. macropetala ‘Warszawska Nike’ 等）、芍药属以及大量禾草与宿根花卉, 扦插繁殖在秋季进行, 翌年春季定植.
开放日、家族史与配套活动
Alen 一年中开放数次（Öppen Trädgård）, 但访客需提前预约, 地址为 Alen 2, 471 72 Hjälteby, 瑞典. 园内附设一座由莫妮卡经营的微缩博物馆 Ateljé Lilla Lyckohuset, 馆藏约 70 件 1:12 比例的西洋镜（diorama）与古玩小店, 夏季周日到周三 12-17 时开放, 可预约团体参观; 莫妮卡还在此举办微缩模型制作课程. 旁有一栋度假小屋对外按日、周或月出租. 庄园在家族史与地方史研究方面也有专门页面, 格坦的祖辈可追溯至 Kihl 村 Valla 教区, 现存于 1795-1855 年的教区记事录摘录也已公开. 周边可一并游览的还有北欧水彩博物馆（Pilarne 史前墓群与雕塑展）、Sundsby 庄园（中世纪起源, 2003 年起对公众开放）与特约恩花园（小型棕榈温室与兰花展示）等站点.
Garden Background and Origins
Alen Trädgård is a private garden on the island of Tjörn on Sweden’s west coast, located near Hjälteby and roughly one kilometre from the Sundsby estate along road 160. The farmstead Alen first appears in the parish records of 1795 as a croft under Fjälebro, and took its present one-eighth mantal shape after the laga skifte redistribution of 1850. The garden today is run by Göran and Monica (Monne) Hermanson. Göran’s own ancestry is traced to the Kihl village in Valla parish on Tjörn, and Monica likewise comes from the same island. Their gardening began in earnest after an August 2002 cloudburst washed most of the existing garden away, after which they rebuilt from 2003 with a drainage ditch across the property and raised beds suited to the site’s blue clay subsoil, which sits on an old seabed.
Plant Collections and the Local Horticultural Network
Göran’s main collecting interest is Rhododendron, while Monica collects Hosta (locally called funkia) and Hemerocallis (daylilies), with Clematis and Paeonia as long-running secondary interests. After joining the Swedish Rhododendron Society (Svenska Rhododendronsällskapet, SRS) Göran developed a particular interest in rhododendrons with indumented foliage, beginning seed sowing in 2004 and running large hybridisation programmes from 2009-2010. The garden now holds records of more than sixty species rhododendrons, over one hundred named commercial hybrids and dozens of own crosses, making it one of the more substantial private rhododendron collections on Sweden’s west coast. The couple are also members of Sällskapet Trädgårdsamatörerna (STA), the Swedish national amateur gardening society, and Monica is a co-founder of Tjörns Trädgårdsförening, the Tjörn horticultural association, which has hosted two rhododendron cutting courses at Alen led by rhododendron breeder Michael Zvorc.
Propagation Methods and Hybridisation Work
Göran propagates mainly by cuttings, with seed sowing as a secondary method. His hybridisation programme from 2009 onwards has aimed at better foliage indument, more compact habit or richer flower colour; recorded own crosses include backcrosses between ‘yaku x bureavii’ and strigillosum lines, adenogynum × microgynum combinations, bureavii × tsariense and several yaku. × proteoides × prattii series. Some of the seed stock originated with Danish Rhododendron Society member Bent Ernebjerg from his Yunnan expedition. Monica’s Hosta collection focuses on leaf colour and form variation, including Hosta sieboldiana, H. montana, H. fortunei series and several variegata selections, while her Hemerocallis range covers common commercial hybrids and a smaller set of self-pollinated seedling selections. Clematis includes C. macropetala ‘Warszawska Nike’ and similar cultivars, and the wider garden also holds grasses, perennial herbs and a small woodland area, with cuttings taken in autumn and potted on the following spring.
Open Days, Family History and On-Site Activities
Alen opens to visitors a few times each year as Öppen Trädgård (Open Garden), though visits are by prior arrangement; the postal address is Alen 2, 471 72 Hjälteby, Sweden. On the same grounds Monica runs Ateljé Lilla Lyckohuset, a miniature museum of around seventy 1:12 scale dioramas together with an antiques and curios shop, open Sunday to Wednesday 12:00-17:00 in summer and on most Sundays the rest of the year, with group bookings available; Monica also runs miniature-making workshops there. An adjacent cottage is rented out by the day, week or month. The site carries a separate family and local history section, with Göran’s ancestry traced back to Kihl in Valla parish and digitised excerpts from the 1795-1855 parish registers. Nearby points of interest that pair well with a visit include the Nordic Watercolour Museum, the Pilarne Bronze Age stone settings and sculpture park, Sundsby manor (medieval origins, opened to the public in 2003), and the Tjörn trade garden with its small palmhouse and orchid display.
