协会概况
新加坡景观建筑师协会（Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects，缩写 SILA）成立于 1985 年，是代表新加坡景观建筑行业的全国性专业团体，主要面向风景园林、环境与城市设计领域的执业人员；协会章程最近一次修订时间为 2017 年 7 月 13 日，对成员资格、专业行为准则及理事会职责等基础事项做了规定。
宗旨与价值
协会以推动风景园林艺术、环境与城市设计的实践和教育为使命，旨在建立并维持高水准的专业资格认证体系；其工作方向涵盖七个层面，包括提供认证框架与评估、加强培训与继续教育、为成员和设计行业提供综合活动渠道、向政府与公众代表行业整体立场、就景观设计事务向政府与学界提供专业意见、推行高水准的专业行为，以及发布权威行业研究与资讯。
主要项目
协会自 2012 年起引入持续专业发展（CPD）计划，后在设计新加坡理事会支持下发展成目前的景观建筑师认证项目（Landscape Architects Accreditation Programme），面向在新加坡执业的景观建筑师；与此同时，协会还运营新加坡景观建筑奖（Singapore Landscape Architecture Awards，SLAA）和学生设计奖（Student Design Awards，SDA），并在 2018 年主办过国际风景园林师联合会世界大会，美丽新加坡清水计划（Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters Programme，ABC Waters）则是协会与公共事业局合作的另一长期项目，旨在通过景观设计改善水道环境。
组织架构
协会理事会由主席、两位副主席、荣誉秘书、荣誉司库及多名理事组成，2025 至 2027 届理事会主席、荣誉秘书与荣誉司库三人共同主持日常工作，2026 至 2028 届副主席由另一位资深理事接任；协会同时设有五个常设小组委员会，分别负责 ABC Waters、认证事务、设计领导力、行业宣传和培训发展，并下设青年领袖平台 LA FUTURE，吸纳学生成员与初级成员参与，旨在为景观建筑行业培养下一代的领导者。
成员类别
协会成员分为五个类别，分别是正式会员（Full Member）、资深会员（Fellow）、初级会员（Graduate）、初级专科会员（Graduate Diploma）以及团体附属会员（Corporate Affiliate），正式会员与资深会员拥有年度大会的投票权，公司及机构则以团体附属身份入会；获认证景观建筑师可通过注册执业机构（Recognised Practice）开展业务，按员工规模分为三档，同时协会为成员提供 CPD 课程折扣、活动费用减免等会员福利。
Overview
The Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA) is the national professional body for landscape architects in Singapore, founded in 1985; it represents practitioners across landscape architecture, environmental design, and urban design, and its constitution was most recently updated on 13 July 2017 to set out the rules on membership categories, professional conduct, and the duties of the Council.
Mission and Values
SILA’s stated mission is to advance the science and art of landscape architecture, together with the theory and practice of landscape, environmental, and urban design, and to promote research and education in these fields; its work covers seven stated areas, including providing an accreditation framework and assessment, strengthening training and continuing education, serving as a channel for programmes of interest to members and the wider design sector, advising government and the public on landscape design matters, representing the collective view of the profession, upholding a high standard of professional conduct, and providing a platform for authoritative design research and information.
Main Programmes
SILA introduced the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme for members in 2012, and with support from DesignSingapore Council this scheme later evolved into the current Landscape Architects Accreditation Programme; SILA also runs the Singapore Landscape Architecture Awards (SLAA) and the Student Design Awards (SDA), hosted the IFLA World Congress in 2018, and maintains the Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters Programme (ABC Waters), a long-running collaboration with the Public Utilities Board aimed at improving Singapore’s waterways through landscape design.
Organisation
SILA is governed by a President, two Vice Presidents, an Honorary Secretary, an Honorary Treasurer, and a number of Council Members; the current Council President, Honorary Secretary, and Honorary Treasurer for the 2025 to 2027 term jointly lead day-to-day governance, with a separate senior Council Member serving as Second Vice President for 2026 to 2028; five standing subcommittees cover ABC Waters, accreditation, design leadership, awareness raising, and training and development, while LA FUTURE is the Institute’s youth leadership platform engaging student and graduate members and grooming the next generation of leaders in the profession.
Membership
SILA recognises five categories of membership: Full Member, Fellow, Graduate, Graduate (Diploma), and Corporate Affiliate; Full Members and Fellows are eligible to vote at Annual General Meetings, while companies and institutions join through the Corporate Affiliate category; accredited landscape architects may register their firms as Recognised Practices, classified into three tiers by staff size, and members also enjoy subsidised CPD courses, event discounts, and other privileges through the Institute’s membership programme.
