苗圃位置与经营范围
ALPIGENA NURSERY 位于荷兰上艾瑟尔省（Overijssel）小城 Nijverdal，由 Bart Moerland 独自经营。苗圃规模属于个人爱好型（hobby kwekerij），主要业务集中在 Saxifraga（虎耳草属）Porophyllum/Kabschia 与 Silver/Ligulatae 两个分支，以及命名 Sempervivum（长生草属）、Jovibarba 与 heuffellii 类群的繁殖和目录整理。苗圃每年春秋两季各发布一次销售清单，植物按 5 厘米或 8 厘米盆径出货。
两类虎耳草与栽培要点
Porophyllum（Kabschia）虎耳草按 5、8 厘米盆出售，每株 3 欧元；Engleria 与 Oppositifolia 两组每株 4 欧元。这类植物在原产地常生长在海拔 5500 米以上的岩屑坡，移至低地岩石园后，应种在东北或西北向的位置，避开正午阳光直射；土壤宜用含大量砂砾的瘠薄混合基质，保持快速排水，不施肥。Silver（Ligulatae）虎耳草同样按 5、8 厘米盆出售，每株 3 欧元，叶缘的银白色”石灰质外泌”是其辨识特征，花期集中在五到六月，花色多为白色或带红点。Silvers 全年保持银绿色莲座，是冬季岩石园中少有的常绿植物，故有”Saxifraga’s are the backbone of the alpine garden”这样的圈内说法。
目录与销售清单
网站上的 Porophyllum 与 Silver 目录并非销售清单，而是按字母顺序整理的”已知且仍在流通”的栽培品种与植物学名档案。销售清单每年 9 月 15 日前后通过邮件发布，订阅者可直接申请加入邮件列表。清单有效期为整年，售完为止。2026 年的新销售清单计划从 9 月 15 日起接受邮件申请；夏季休整期为 7 月 1 日至 9 月 15 日，期间 Sempervivum 仍可发货，Saxifraga 暂停。植株多为春季到货后预留 3 个月内的订单，超期不保留。
邮购与到访规则
邮购方面，苗圃每周一发货，绝大多数欧洲国家 5 天内到达；邮费按国家分档计算，荷兰境内 24 株以内 7.5 欧元、10 株以内 10 欧元。邮局寄送的国别限制包括挪威、瑞士、加拿大、美国及俄罗斯（俄乌战争期间暂停）；寄往英国时以”低价值礼品”报关，虽几乎都能通过，但若被海关扣留，损失由订购方承担，苗圃无法退款。邮购订单按”先到先得”处理，热门品种容易售罄，可备注备选品种。PayPal 付款每单加收 3 欧元，欧盟内银行转账通常免费。到访只能预约，工作日（周一至周六）通过苗圃公开联系邮箱约定时间（邮箱地址见该站点首页底部）。
植物杂交与社区贡献

Location and Scope
ALPIGENA NURSERY is a small hobby nursery run by Bart Moerland in Nijverdal, in the eastern Overijssel province of the Netherlands. The collection focuses on two sections of the genus Saxifraga — Porophyllum (including the Kabschia group) and Ligulatae (the “Silvers”) — along with named Sempervivum, Jovibarba and heuffelii cultivars. Plants are sold in 5 cm or 8 cm pots, and a fresh sales list is released by email every spring and every autumn.
Two Sections of Saxifraga
Porophyllum (Kabschia) plants are sold at 3 euros per plant in 5 or 8 cm pots, while Engleria and Oppositifolia sections are priced at 4 euros each. In the wild some botanical Saxifrages grow above 5,500 m, so lowland cultivation needs a north-east or north-west aspect, sharply drained gravelly soil and no fertiliser. Silver (Ligulatae) Saxifrages are also 3 euros each; the silvery-grey rosette with encrusted lime along the leaf edges is the section’s hallmark, and flowering runs from May into June on stems ranging from 5 cm to over 50 cm. Because both groups stay green all year, the common saying among growers is that Saxifrages are the backbone of the alpine garden.
Catalogues and Sales Lists
The on-site catalogues are reference archives — alphabetical listings of botanical names and registered Porophyllum and Silver cultivars still believed to be in cultivation — and not for sale. The actual sales list is issued by email around 15 September each year, valid for the following twelve months while stock lasts. Subscribers can request the list directly, or ask to be added to the email list to receive it automatically. For 2026, the new list will be available from 15 September on request; the summer break runs from 1 July to 15 September, during which Sempervivum orders still ship but Saxifraga orders are paused. Plants are reserved at most three months after payment, and popular cultivars often sell out within days.
Mail Order and Visits
Mail orders are dispatched on Mondays and usually arrive within five days inside Europe. Postage is charged per destination country; within the Netherlands, dispatch is 7.50 euros for up to 24 plants and 10 euros for fewer than ten. Customs restrictions currently prevent dispatch to Norway, Switzerland, Canada, the United States and Russia; orders to the United Kingdom are sent as low-value gifts, which almost always clear customs, but if a parcel is held the loss falls on the buyer. PayPal payments incur a 3-euro surcharge per order, while bank transfers inside the EU are usually free. Visits are by appointment only, arranged by the nursery’s public contact email from Monday to Saturday.
Hybrids and Community Records
The nursery maintains a Saxifraga Crosses from the Alpigena Nursery page documenting its own hybridising work, and the Adrian Young Checklists are available on request. A single open day is normally held on a Saturday when the Porophyllum flower best, with the exact date posted on the home page; appointments on other days usually allow more time for individual questions. Cultivar naming, parentage notes and the degree of leaf-edge encrustation are all recorded briefly in the sales list.
