历史沿革
澳大利亚园林设计师协会（Australian Institute of Landscape Architects，简称 AILA）成立于 1966 年，是澳大利亚景观建筑行业的全国性最高专业机构，以公司形式（company limited by guarantee）注册运作，属于非营利性专业团体。协会自创立以来一直代表全澳景观设计师的共同利益，推动开放空间、社区与环境管理的高质量设计。

AILA Awards 是澳大利亚景观建筑行业最具权威性的年度评奖体系，覆盖公共公园、街道景观、基础设施、校园园区、生态修复、战略规划与城市公共空间等各类项目，并通过各州分会评审机制表彰优秀实践。2026 年度评奖主题为 “This is Landscape. Design that holds its ground”，同时纪念协会成立 60 周年，并明确阐述景观建筑师在韧性与绿色基础设施领域的先驱作用。
行业地位与本土合作
作为澳大利亚景观建筑领域的 peak body，AILA 与原住民及托雷斯海峡岛民群体（Acknowledgement of Country）保持长期尊重与协作关系，承认其作为土地、海洋与天空传统守护者的地位。协会工作网络覆盖全澳数千名景观设计师、景观承包商、苗圃、园艺中心、园林设计施工企业及学术机构，并积极与州市政府、设计院校与园艺商业组织协同推动城市与乡村的可持续景观建设。
Historical Evolution
The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA), founded in 1966, is the national peak professional body for landscape architecture in Australia. It is constituted as a company limited by guarantee and operates as a non-profit professional association, representing the collective interests of landscape architects across the country and championing quality design for public open space, communities and environmental stewardship.
Mission and Core Functions
AILA leads a dynamic and respected profession dedicated to creating great places that support healthy communities and a sustainable planet. The Institute provides training, accreditation and a professional community for members across urban, regional and overseas Australia, and currently represents more than 3,500 members throughout Australia and abroad, with membership continuing to grow.
Governance and Member Network
AILA is governed by an elected Board of Directors and is supported strategically by its State Chapters spanning New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. The constitutional objects of the Institute include facilitating the exchange of professional knowledge, representing the professional views of its members, influencing government policy, promoting public and stakeholder confidence, maintaining high professional standards, providing educational opportunities and ensuring sound corporate governance.
Awards Program and Public Engagement
The AILA Awards are the most authoritative annual recognition program in Australian landscape architecture, celebrating projects across public parks, streetscapes, infrastructure, campuses, ecological restoration, strategic planning and civic landscapes. The 2026 AILA Awards, themed “This is Landscape. Design that holds its ground”, also mark the Institute’s 60th anniversary and reaffirm the pioneering role of landscape architects in resilience and green infrastructure.
Industry Position and Local Collaboration
As the Australian peak body for landscape architecture, AILA maintains an ongoing Acknowledgement of Country with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, recognising them as the Traditional Custodians of Australia’s lands, waters, seas and skies. The Institute works closely with thousands of landscape architects, landscape contractors, nurseries, garden centres, landscape design and construction firms, design schools and horticultural business organisations across Australia to advance sustainable landscape outcomes in both urban and regional settings.
