The Land Conservancy of BC (TLC) is a non-profit, charitable land trust founded in 1997 and working throughout British Columbia, Canada. It is membership-based, supported by volunteers, and governed by an elected volunteer Board of Directors.

TLC works to protect and restore the biological diversity of British Columbia through action and education. Its conservation scope includes important habitat for plants, animals and natural communities, as well as properties with historical, cultural, scientific, scenic or compatible recreational value.

Featured Projects and Horticultural Value
Abkhazi Garden in Victoria is a heritage home and garden created by Prince and Princess Abkhazi from 1946 onward. Its West Coast design follows glaciated rocky slopes, native Garry oaks and scenic views, with mature conifers, Japanese maples, rhododendrons, naturalised bulbs, alpines and woodland companions. TLC purchased the property in 2000 after a community campaign to preserve it.
Conservation Tools and Public Participation
The Clearwater Wetland and Wildlife Corridor connects two southern portions of Wells Gray Provincial Park and supports the movement of moose, wolves, deer, cougars, black bears and grizzly bears. TLC also uses conservation covenants: voluntary legal agreements that keep agreed protection commitments attached to a property title while enabling landowners to retain ownership, supported by monitoring, restoration, naturalist education, volunteers and members.
