四季景观

花园按四季布置：冬日以落叶乔木的枝干线条与古董石瓮为主景；早春有雪滴花（snowdrops）与嚏根草（hellebores）点缀；三月末至四月间，二十余株木兰属（Magnolia）品种与黄水仙（daffodils）相继开放；夏季进入盛花期；秋季则由果园挂果与落叶色相承接。园路采用爱尔兰利斯科尔（Liscannor）灰石板铺设。

分区与植物收藏

园区分为三个主要部分：围绕池塘布置的规则式花园，混植灌木与宿根花卉边界，外缘是大片草坪；西侧的果园平日有散养鸡只与儿童活动区；东侧原为荒废多年的村舍花园（Cottage Garden），经改造后形成以抬升苗床为主的菜果园（potager）。植物收藏以不常见的物种与栽培品种为特色。

动物家庭与园艺原则

园内除两位主人与三名子女外，还饲养两只小型犬、两只猫。池塘中放养有救助的乌龟、观赏鱼与青蛙；果园有散养鸡；另有蚯蚓养殖箱与蜂箱。园艺管理遵循有机原则，不使用化学药剂或农药，以维持生物多样性。

参观、住宿与拍摄

站点曾承接婚礼、时尚与生活类摄影外拍，以及团体预约参观。当前对外参观以约请制为准；新近翻修的 Airbnb 客房由原园区内一处旧棚屋改造，可接待入住的夫妇或情侣。拍摄与参观安排以官方网站公告为准。

Site profile

Lakemount Garden is a private garden of about 2 acres in Glanmire, County Cork, Ireland. It is built around a formal pond garden, an orchard and a refurbished cottage garden turned into a productive potager. The site is run by Beata and Matt, and offers limited visits and an on-site Airbnb stay.

Four-season planting

The garden is laid out for year-round interest. Winter highlights the bare-branch silhouettes and antique stone urns; spring opens with snowdrops and hellebores, followed by more than twenty Magnolia varieties alongside the daffodils; summer is a full flowering season; autumn carries colour through the orchard fruit and foliage. Paths are paved with grey Liscannor flagstone.

Layout and plant collection

The grounds fall into three areas. A formal pond garden with mixed shrubs and perennial borders sits within sweeps of lawn. The orchard to the west is home to free-range chickens. The east side, once a neglected cottage garden, has been turned into a raised-bed potager of vegetables and fruit. The planting leans toward unusual species and cultivars in a collector’s style.

Animals and gardening approach

Alongside Beata, Matt and their three children, the garden is home to two small dogs and two cats. The pond holds rescued turtles, fish and frogs; the orchard has chickens; there are wormeries and beehives on site. Management follows organic principles, with no chemical pesticides used, to support local biodiversity.

Visits, stay and photography

The site has hosted weddings, fashion and lifestyle photo shoots, as well as group visits by appointment. Public opening is currently by appointment only. A newly refurbished Airbnb cottage, converted from a former outbuilding on the property, is available for couples. Photography and visit arrangements follow the official site updates.
