学会沿革与合并背景
爱尔兰 ILI 风景园林学会 (Irish Landscape Institute, 简称 ILI) 是代表爱尔兰景观建筑师的专业团体, 总部设在爱尔兰都柏林, 现有会员三百余人, 由院士与正式会员、研究生会员、学生会员、荣誉会员及附属机构六类组成。学会自一九九二年由原爱尔兰景观建筑师协会爱尔兰分会与爱尔兰景观园艺学会合并而成, 此后一直承担爱尔兰景观行业职业代表与专业资质把关的角色, 是欧洲风景园林基金会 (EFLA) 与国际风景园林师联合会 (IFLA) 的注册成员, 同时也是世界城市公园 (World Urban Parks) 与爱尔兰树木委员会 (The Tree Council of Ireland) 的成员单位。
职能宗旨与行业使命
学会的职能宗旨围绕景观规划、景观设计与景观管理三个核心领域, 旨在为会员设立专业卓越标准, 推动持续职业发展 (CPD), 并通过公众教育提升景观行业的社会认知度。学会支持风景园林与工程、建筑、城市规划等学科的横向协作, 配合爱尔兰各级园艺与景观教育的发展节奏, 通过专题讲座、年度大会、CPD 网络研讨会等形式向会员和非会员专业群体免费或低成本开放, 是爱尔兰境内规模最大、持续时间最长的景观专业继续教育平台之一。
会员体系与专业资质
学会的会员体系分个人与执业单位两类: 个人会员包括公司会员 (MILI, 每年一百九十五欧元)、公司海外会员、公司退休会员 (各九十五欧元)、研究生会员 (八十五欧元)、附属会员 (一百三十五欧元) 与免费学生会员, 申请公司会员须先取得两年研究生会籍并通过每年十月举办的执业考试 (Professional Practice Examination, 报名费七十五欧元, 逾期一百欧元); 执业单位会员按规模分为 A 至 E 五档 (从个体执业二百八十四欧元到十二人以上七百二十欧元不等), 在学会名录与 CPD 资源访问方面享有不同权益。
教育合作与实习体系
学会与都柏林大学学院 (UCD) 风景园林专业保持长期合作, 联合推动本科荣誉学士 (Level 8 BSc Landscape Architecture) 课程的实习项目 (Professional Work Experience, 简称 PWE), 学生在第三学年进入执业单位进行六至八个月的实地训练, 由学会执业单位会员提供带教岗位。学会通过这一机制将课堂学习、行业准入与执业能力衔接起来, 是爱尔兰景观建筑师培养体系中的关键一环, 同时也与 IFLA 认可的其他欧洲院校保持学分互认与执业资格迁移通道。
学术活动与设计奖项
学会每两年举办一届 ILI 设计奖 (ILI Design Awards) 与 ILI 大会 (ILI Conference), 其中设计奖常设戴安娜·尼克斯手绘纪念奖 (Diane Nickels Memorial Award for Excellence in Hand Drawing), 以纪念二〇〇八年辞世的首位女性主席; 月度 CPD 网络研讨会在 YouTube 频道公开发布录像, 议题涵盖树木法规、水框架指令、城市生物多样性、生态走廊、风景公约与城市弹性等近年热点。下一届执业考试定于二〇二六年十月十日上午举行, 下一届 ILI 设计奖颁奖晚会定于二〇二六年十一月五日在都柏林 Pearse Street 会计公会大楼举行, 相关信息以学会官方主页为准。
Founding and Merger Background
The Irish Landscape Institute (ILI) is the professional body representing landscape architects in Ireland, based in Dublin with a current membership of more than three hundred fellows, full members, graduate members, students, honorary members and affiliates. The Institute was formed in 1992 from the merger of the Irish Chapter of the Institute of Landscape Architects and the Institute of Landscape Horticulture of Ireland, joining private practice and public sector members under one roof. ILI is a registered member of the European Foundation for Landscape Architecture (EFLA), the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), World Urban Parks, and The Tree Council of Ireland.
Mission and Professional Mandate
The Institute’s stated mission is to set standards of excellence across landscape planning, landscape architecture and landscape management; to encourage and facilitate the continued professional development (CPD) of its members; and to increase public awareness of landscape professionals and their work. It supports interaction with related disciplines including engineering, architecture and planning, and contributes to the development of landscape education at all levels in Ireland. To promote knowledge of the profession the Institute runs a regular CPD webinar lecture series that is generally free to members and open to non-members and associated professionals.
Membership Tiers and Qualification
ILI membership is split between individuals and practices. Individual tiers include Corporate Membership (MILI) at 195 euro per year for landscape architects who have completed the Professional Practice Examination, Graduate Membership at 85 euro, Affiliate Membership at 135 euro, a free Student tier, plus Overseas and Retired Corporate categories at 95 euro each. Practice Membership is graded in five categories from Cat A (sole trader, 284 euro) to Cat E (12+ landscape architects, 720 euro). Applicants seeking Corporate status must hold two consecutive years of Graduate Membership and pass the annual Professional Practice Examination, held each October with a 75 euro fee (100 euro for late submissions).
Education Partnerships and Internships
ILI maintains a long-running partnership with the University College Dublin (UCD) Landscape Architecture programme, coordinating the Professional Work Experience (PWE) internship track for Level 8 BSc students in their third year. Through this pathway students undertake a six-to-eight-month placement with ILI Practice Member firms, while ILI also recognises IFLA-accredited qualifications from across Europe and operates a Migration of Professionally Qualified Landscape Architects route for members in good standing of equivalent associations.
CPD Webinars, Conference and Design Awards
The Institute holds the ILI Design Awards and the ILI Conference biennially. The Design Awards feature a dedicated Diane Nickels Memorial Award for Excellence in Hand Drawing, named after the Institute’s first female President who passed away in 2008. A monthly CPD webinar series is published to the ILI YouTube channel, covering topics such as tree law, the Water Framework Directive, urban biodiversity, ecological corridors, the European Landscape Convention and resilient urban design. The next Professional Practice Examination is scheduled for the morning of Saturday 10 October 2026, and the next ILI Design Awards evening will take place at Chartered Accountants House on Pearse Street, Dublin on Thursday 5 November 2026; full programme details are listed on the official site.
