Historical Evolution and Positioning
Aberglasney, located in the village of Llangathen in Carmarthenshire, Wales, is a heritage garden with around five hundred years of history and is widely regarded as one of the finest gardens in Wales. At its heart stands a Grade II* listed mansion that over five centuries has been home to poets, artists, a Bishop, a High Sheriff, architects and solicitors, with Bishop Rudd creating the famous Cloister Garden here in the early seventeenth century. After decades of neglect and decline in the late twentieth century, the mansion was restored under the Aberglasney Restoration Trust, a registered charity.
