三代传承的家族苗圃

明斯特苗圃 2005 年起由 Mathias Münster 经营，是家族第三代接手打理的一间苗圃。苗圃网站列出的关键词里，除了铁线莲、苗木、批发这些常见项，还专门写了铁线莲育种，可见铁线莲在整间苗圃里的分量。三公顷的地里种着约三百个铁线莲品种，另外还有落叶乔木、针叶树和各类攀援植物。

铁线莲全部露地栽培

苗圃把铁线莲的繁殖和销售当作支柱，所有铁线莲都在露地栽培。这一条对买苗的人有实际意义：露地长出来的苗经历过风吹日晒和冬季低温，到手是已经扎根的活苗，不是在温室里催出来的。品种按五大类排在网站上，杂交种一百三十五个、维蒂塞拉类五十个、得克萨斯组十七个、原种与野生型七十八个、宿根与半灌木类三十个，条目合计三百一十个，每个品种页都写明花期、株高、光照要求，以及是否适合搭配玫瑰。

批发为主，也接待私人客户

A Family Nursery in Its Third Generation

Mathias Münster has run Münster Baumschulen since 2005, taking over a business the family had already worked for two generations. The nursery’s own keyword list names plant breeding alongside clematis, woody plants and wholesale, which says where clematis sits in the business. Three hectares carry about three hundred clematis cultivars, together with deciduous trees, conifers and a range of climbers.

For buyers that detail matters: field-grown plants have already weathered wind, sun and winter cold, so what arrives is rooted stock rather than greenhouse-forced material. The catalogue is sorted into five groups and lists three hundred and ten entries in total, with flowering period, height, light requirements and notes on rose combinations given on each cultivar page.

Wholesale First, Private Visitors Welcome

The business is aimed mainly at wholesalers and resellers, and the site carries a dedicated wholesale page where plants can be put on an enquiry list and the quantities wanted submitted through a contact form. Private customers are welcome as well, and the site suggests summer as the best time to come. That matches the seasonal calendar: from late July to mid or late September the clematis range is almost entirely in flower at once, except for the early spring bloomers, and the nursery lets visitors pick their own plants in the open rows.

Export as Regular Business

Customers include German garden centres, retail nurseries and trade nurseries, plus online shops across the trade. Export has grown steadily in weight, and the plants now reach France, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates and Romania. Moving stock from a nursery in northern Germany to a dozen countries runs through the wholesale channel, and clematis travel well in that form, which is largely why it works.

Trade Fairs and Open Days

The nursery takes part in garden fairs and festivals throughout the season, and the events page lists the stands by year: the snowdrop days and plant market at the Kiekeberg open-air museum in Hamburg, the GdS plant market at Gut Karlshöhe, the plant market in Beckdorf, the Gartenzauber garden festival in Bissenbrook, and the Vierländer Rosenhof rose garden in Kirchwerder. Dates change from year to year, so it is worth checking the site before travelling. The nursery itself opens from late July through September, and the page lists the visiting hours for each day.
