中心由汉斯（Hans）经营，在植物养护方面提供第一线帮助。梅肯斯两姐妹杰西卡和科里安娜（Jessica & Corienne）还创作了一本诗集《向花园致敬》（Ode aan de tuin），展现了对园艺的深厚情感。

137种精选植物

Merkens以其精选植物系列著称，货架上陈列着众多独特而精美的植物。每周都会购入最特别、最漂亮的植物，远超普通标准。如果顾客在寻找某种特殊植物，店员会努力代为寻找。

中心提供丰富的户外植物选择，包括球根花卉、本土植物灌木和树木、蔬菜植物香草和种子、多年生植物、攀缘植物、灌木、树木、一年生夏季花卉、草坪垫、盆栽植物、玫瑰以及街边小花园专用植物等十二大品类。

室内植物与家居装饰

温室中设有不同风格的展示厅，陈列着各类室内植物、人造花卉和家居配件。室内植物有助于健康的居住环境，人造花卉和仿真植物则适合光照不足的角落。

家居装饰系列来自荷兰知名供应商范德莱登（Van der Leeden），涵盖各类花盆、烛台等精美配饰。2021年起还引入了简约风格的丹麦品牌IB Laursen。

有机与可持续发展

Merkens设有专门的有机产品区，与种植者合作不断扩大环保种植植物的比例。中心提供有机种子、有机肥料等环保产品，用行动为更绿色的未来做出贡献。

此外，Jan负责植物配送服务，顾客可电话或邮件咨询配送详情。无论是阳台小盆栽还是花园大型改造，Merkens都能提供合适的植物和建议。

A Green Meeting Place

Merkens Tuincentrum is located in Utrecht province, Netherlands. Guided by the belief that “green makes people happier,” Merkens consciously chooses personal connection in an increasingly digital world — positioning itself as a green meeting place where customers enjoy walking in and receiving individualised attention and professional gardening advice.

The centre is run by Hans, who provides first-line assistance with plant care. Sisters Jessica and Corienne have also created a poetry collection “Ode aan de tuin” (Ode to the Garden), reflecting their deep passion for gardening.

137 Selected Plant Varieties

Merkens is renowned for its selected plant collection, featuring many unique and beautiful plants on its shelves. Every week, the most special and beautiful plants are sourced — going well beyond the standard range. If customers are looking for something specific, the staff will endeavour to find it.

The centre offers an extensive outdoor plant selection across twelve major categories: bulbs, native plants/shrubs/trees, vegetable plants/herbs/seeds, perennial plants, climbing plants, shrubs, trees, annual summer bloomers, turf, potted plants, roses, and facade garden plants.

Indoor Plants and Home Accessories

The greenhouse features style rooms displaying indoor plants, silk flowers and home accessories. Houseplants contribute to a healthy living environment, while silk flowers and artificial plants suit darker corners of the home.

The home accessories collection comes from Dutch supplier Van der Leeden, featuring various pots, candle holders and elegant accessories. Since 2021, the minimalist Danish brand IB Laursen has also been part of the collection.

Organic and Sustainable Commitment

Merkens maintains a dedicated organic product section, collaborating with growers to continuously expand the proportion of environmentally grown plants. The centre offers organic seeds, fertilisers and eco-friendly products — contributing to a greener future through concrete action.

Additionally, Jan handles plant delivery service, with customers able to inquire about delivery details by phone or email. Whether for a small balcony pot or a major garden transformation, Merkens provides suitable plants and expert advice.
